Comment:
Lectures are are rather boring and don't follow the book much at all. His problem sets and test questions more feel like shots in the dark than anything else. His politics come out in class which detracts from trying to learn the material in the Krugman textbook since politics brings up the exceptions in economics.

Comment:
Chaudhuri is the real deal. His lectures are clear, relevant, and to the point. Rather dry, yes, but how many econ professors actually use the socratic method in class? Pay attention, dive into the material, and Chaudhuri will maximize your return on the time you invest in the course.

His lectures are very structured and easy to follow. Go to class because questions on myecon lab come from random details he mentions in class. Midterm and final are almost identical to practice exams. strongly recommend him

Took ITrade with Chaudhuri and learned A LOT. Not only do you learn the concepts in the book, but he gives a lot of real world examples of why what you're learning matters. He isn't great at answering general questions and may seem aloof at times, so keep your questions specific.

he doesn't answer questions very well. And he doesn't explain the theories that well. But once we got to the political side of the course he was excellent. And for everything he gives very very good examples.

Best econ professor I have had at georgetown. Most of the exam MC questions are things that he mentions in class so pay attention. The Myeconlab is the hardest part because it takes long but otherwise, an easy A.

Prof. Chaudri is ok, but that makes him one of the best econ profs at Georgetown. His exams are fair. I got the worst econ grade I ever have from him, but at least you actually have a chance of getting a question right rather than just guessing and praying for the econ curve. Take him if you can.

Professor Chaudhuri is great. He makes the class really enjoyable and his exams are straightforward although the MyEconLab homework takes hours. Best Econ Professor for ITrade.

Comment:
His lectures are clear and organized but he isn't good at answering questions in class. Exams are not too difficult since most material is covered in lecture. The homework can be tricky, and some material isn't covered in lecture so you need to buy the textbook. If you dedicate some time to the class and pay attention, you will get a lot out of it.

Comment:
He chose not to curve the class because he thought the "easy" homework was going to be enough of a curve. Well, guess what? the homework is not really a myeconlab homework, it is a weekly quiz with tricky questions, taking at least 2 hours if you want a decent percentage. The ridiculously-priced book is useful only in this regard

Once engaged in real-world applications of theory, he's dismissive, in a rather arrogant manner, of any comment or answer that doesn't fit his center-left, anti-Western worldview.

Prof. Chaudhuri is a pretty clear lecturer and his tests are very much reflective of what's covered in lectures. Grade is almost completely determined by mid-term and final, both gradely strictly by the TA.

Difficult class, espescially the multiple choice on exams, which is a lot of gotcha technicality questions. A surprisingly good lecturer though, pretty entertaining and you can learn a lot if you pay attention.

Great Professor. Very intelligent, good teacher. Homeworks are once a week and are right out of the book, so it's easy to do well on them. Lectures are super clear but vigorous, and exams are only on material covered in class. He includes relevant material on current issues in international economics, which is very useful.

I got an A in my first two semesters of econ (macro and micro) and struggled to get a B in this class. Tests are based on notes but homework is based on the textbook, so you have to take good notes AND do all the textbook reading

Yeah he's really easy but that's not really a good thing with the curve. I think it's a good class to take if you're not that good at Econ but a bad one if you are an are trying to get an A because it's all facts and no concepts.

Terrible. I have a feeling he wrote most of the positive comments himself. Although he knows economic history well, this man has less understanding of economic theory than you're average junior econ major. two lectures of actual economics, most of which you already learned in macro principles, then a bunch of crap about WTO history. AWFUL.

He's really really good. knows his stuff inside out, clear notes, friendly and helpful outside class, cares for his students, very experienced, remembers students names and who attended class on which day(!),appreciates hard work and sincerity. In short: everything you would want in a professor.
