Comment:

Taking LCD foundation year with Alice was quite the challenge. Who knew there could be so much to learn about color. it was really hard of a class, but she made it vary in the way she presents the lectures. Assignments were the ones that were really challenging. Great class and you learn a lot, but be prepared.

Comment:

Alice is a great teacher overall. Although it takes a while to understand her at times, she is really just trying to push you to think more and give your own opinion. Compared to other LCD professors, she doesn't give much work because she wants you to understand everything before getting on to the next project.

Alice is a great teacher who genuinely cares for her students. Although she is hard to understand at times, if you express your confusion she will go out of her way to make sure you are on the same page. She is a very fair grader and does not play favorites. As long as you work hard on her projects, she will know and give you the grade you deserve.

Amazing teacher! Stick it out for two years, by the end of the year she'll have LCD pounded into your brain! The work load is a little heavy, but it all definitely pays off in the end. Alice is one of the best LCD teachers at Pratt.

Alice is a great teacher! I had her second semester after being very discontent with my teacher the semester before. She is very clear and very helpful! she provokes the design imagination in the best way (I am usually very critical of teachers). Alice comes highly recommended by me.

Comment:

Takes a long while to warm up to her, and the critiques are confusing at times. There is a huge workload- some projects are fun and enjoyable while other assignments (especially the collages) are downright infuriating. Somewhat tough grader, but if you pay attention and work hard, it all pays off in the end. Overall, lots to learn in this class.

Just know that it is nearly impossible to get an A in this class. It won't happen. However, what I've learned is priceless. She has a tendency to give confusing analogies but also is patient and willing to clarify. She's germaphobe! If you aren't in the mood to talk just tell her you have a cold and she won't go near you! :PNever skip a class!!!!!!

Very Helpful and Enthusiastic! Definitely cares about her students! A tough but fair grader, a B giver, but emphasizes that we are here at Pratt not for the grades but to be the best artists and designers we can be! I highly recommend her. Her class rocks my world :)

Alice is an AMAZING teacher. LCD was made for her to teach, she answers every question with the most clarity and interest. I would recommend her to anyone taking LCD at Pratt, seriously the best & most helpful art teacher I've had.

She is very likely to mix you up with some other student and lower your grade for unexplainable reasons. I haven't heard a good review of her class from anyone in my three years at Pratt. She is not a terrible teacher, but not overly good either. She babies her students, like asking them to tell her when they want to use the restroom.

She intends to talk too much. She always push you a step further by asking you questions, which could be inspiring or puzzling sometimes. She gives out a lot of homework. But she's easy to talk to and flexible. I like how she gives out a list of homework by email every week. It is always clear what she wants from you.

good lord does she talk a lot. she has a lot to teach you and that's cool but god she goes on and on forever and it gets tough to listen to. she is a good teacher, but sometimes she gives out way to much homework and asks why you are so tired on Friday morning....
