Edgar passed away but he wasn't called the American Socrates for nothing. You were on-track in thinking better after his classes which combined a lot of close reading, open discussion, and research opportunities. Offered first independent class on Objectivism and interdisciplinary HUM. Check out his logic texts and student notes. They're classics.

The best philosophy professor. If all philosophy professors are great and he's a philosophy professor, then he's great!

I wish i had taken a class with him when he was in his prime. Dr. Edgar is a great guy, and you can learn a lot from him in and outside the class. It's sometimes hard to hear what he's saying, but if you ask him to explain something he'll gladly help you. Truly a class act.

The lectures his gives in class are completely unecessary and quite boring, but you get participation points for grade by just being there and listening. The papers are hard sometimes but he is as easy grader, you just have to think.

You have to REALLY listen to what he's saying, but always willing to help, whether it be with class, personal stuff, or choosing professors, and is always very honest.

He's a nice guy, but he should retire by now. I can't understand what he's saying most of the time.
