Comment:
Yes, he is not a good lecturer but honestly he is trying his best and is very helpful. I got the gist of the material by the test because he gives us so much practice to do: Homework and in-class practice. I got a D on the final, I should've gotten a hard A- as my overall but he have me an overall A anyway. He's so nice, I can't even explain it.

Don't take PHYS 104. Brian was a nice guy, but his teaching was too ambiguous because the course called for an "inquiry" environment. Brian is smart & knows his Physics, however, this class was unbearable; too much homework and not enough explanation from the textbook & lectures at all. The textbook is necessary & labor intensive, no one liked it.

I can't understand where he's going with any of his lectures. Constant mess-ups, goes off on a tangent, and workload consists of lab, paper homework, online homework, and tests, yet none of them line up with each other or any of the lectures. Also a constant stream of information and doesn't set you up to do well on tests.

Take him if you can! Nicest professor I have met. Very thorough in explaining the materials and clear grading criteria on the project.

A very fun class - it kicked off a love of electronics for me. Brian is a unique, smart instructor who truly wants you to learn. Don't make assumptions, leave them at the door and come prepared to learn from the ground up. The class is awesome, I highly recommend for anyone with any interest in physics as they apply to technology.

Brian is okay in terms of grading and exams. His exam is reasonable yet not extremely easy (it's Physics after all). But his lecture is sometimes confusing and it is better for you to read by yourselves. But do take him if the best prof are not there. He is much better than some bad prof in PHY dept at BC

Brian is a nice teacher, but his lecture is not the best. Physics itself is a hard subject, and he tried hard to make it simple, but doesn't work for me. To succeed in his class, you have to read the textbook thoroughly several times and seek help from peers or tutors. His tests are very reasonable and gives a lot of partial credits!

I received an A in this class only because I did the work for it. I read the textbook - and I reread it. And I reread it again. I worked on so many practice problems. Don't expect help from professor Scott. His lectures are long and don't include examples. I normally don't give scathing reviews but he is honestly the worst I've ever had DO NOT TAKE

I've never seen a physics teacher at BC be so passionate with teaching physics. He seems to really enjoy doing his lectures. Be aware that he sets a curve (50% F instead of 59), as his tests can be a tad tricky

Lectures don't help with homework. They give you a slight understanding of topic but that's it. Mostly learning comes from book and even then the book is not good. Example exams are way easier than tests. Don't take if you can avoid. Average on first exam was higher than usual so he made them harder to compensate.

the teacher is cool, found a hard times sometime to get what he was saying. groups projects were pretty helpful. he was a funny and entertaining. Individual assignment was the toughest thing in that class.

Mr.Scott is very helpful; he really wants his students to understand the lecture. Come meet him outside class if you have any question. Exams are little bit challenging, but he is an easy grader. Final exam with 20 extra credits is great. Do the example exams before hand and ask him if you have any questions because the exam keys will not be posted

Brian Scott is an average teacher. Nothing great, but nothing too bad. At the start of his course, you will be confused, as he doesn't provide many (if any) example problems in class. After the first test, you'll understand his teaching style more. As long as you read the physics textbook, you should be able to get by fine. Yes, read that textbook!
