She's a really sweet lady, but she's really disorganized with the class. She assigns writings with vague directions, often at the last minute. Often during discussion she pushes her own interpretation of readings onto the class instead of letting us figure them out for ourselves.

Professor Buck is very very nice but it can be easy for her to slip behind the syllabus. She expects participation, but is mindful of the different backgrounds that people have in Spanish. When it comes to the Basques, she's an expert! She is a slow grader, but a fair one. It can be a little hard to know where you stand sometimes due to this.

Stays silent most of the time, lets her co-professor Takinawa do all the work. When she DOES talk she trips over her own words and has a very low level of knowledge, using vague terms and often hesitating when talking about the world at large. She is nervous about speaking Spanish.

Professor Buck is incredibly nice and really does care about students. She expects you to participate in class but her assignments aren't too hard. However, she returns assignments back super late so don't expect to get them back.

Absolutely love Prof. Buck! favorite professor here at w&m. Super nice and understanding, teaches interesting content, doesn't grade too difficult or assign too much work (just reading, papers, midterm and final). She's more than willing to provide help or look over papers beforehand and is super approachable. Had her for HISP 281 also.

Buck is a really sweet lady, but very disorganized. Her class is fairly easy, but it's not very informative or interesting. There was no direction, and we just ignored the syllabus after a few weeks. It took her months to get a short paper back to us, and she sent out the study guide for the final exactly 38 hours before the exam.

She was an absolutely wonderful professor. I learned a lot of Spanish, she generous grader on grammar, and papers/tests were reasonable. All the stories and plays we read were interesting and historical. Buck is both interested and knowledgeable about what she teaches and she's easy to get help from. Definitely recommend any of her classes

I absolutely love her. She is by far my favorite teacher I have had at W&M. I consistently try to take her classes and actively encourage anyone interested in Spanish to do the same. She is always very helpful and I actually always learn things in her classes.

Good Teacher, interesting class with a lot of focus on discussion. She missed class/ forgot to put up homework on blackboard a couple of times, which could be looked at in a good or bad way. Almost all of the readings were interesting and as long as you did your work it was not difficult to get a good grade.

Professor Buck is incredibly nice. I went to Spain with her in addition to having her at W&M, and she's just a great person. Very easy; I studied a grand total of 10 minutes for both exams and got a 98 in the class.

Wonderful teacher! She is a very kind and warm lady. She is very understanding and accepts late work. Both of the essays we've had to write were creative and interesting topics, as well as the novels we read. The class was extremely easy with no arduous work involved at all. Her class just has a fun, easygoing atmosphere.
