Comment:

Took him my first semester of college and he was great. The test are difficult but they are matching so that helps. Make sure to copy all the terms he puts on the board. He is willing to work with the student if he sees improvement in your grades. Also, he will give extra credit if you just ask. I wrote a paper and moved my exam grade up.

Comment:

Davis is the absolute best- very liberal, but who isn't at this school? He loves the material he teaches & truly cares for his students. If you go to class he will probably bump you up a full letter grade! Test are matching, w/ a few curve balls. Write down the information on board & make a quizlet, I made 100's on all from this (without reading).

Overall grade is based on 3 exams and attendance. Exams are matching in sets of 5. Go to class and know everything he writes on the board. Try to sit in the first few rows so you don't get distracted. And pay attention to words he repeats, they will likely be on the exam. Dr. Davis is a nice guy and wants you to do good in his class.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! Engages his students into the lecture. He understands history is pretty boring for one who is taking the class for credit, so he is pretty entertaining. Only 3 tests given. Helps your grades based off of attendance. I ended up with a 89.3 in the class and he boosted it up to an A because of my attendance. Taking him again.

Dr. Davis is a phenomenal teacher and historian. You rarely get someone at his level teaching a survey course. Absolutely take this class, he's a wealth of knowledge. He has given me a love for history that I never had before. Just a great guy all around, and more importantly, a teacher who really cares and is passionate about his subject.

He is awesome! His lectures are interesting- American history professor from England- Ironic, huh? (Yes he has an accent!) Tests are very easy but only if you actually look over the class notes and/or make flashcards. I am taking his class again next semester!!

Dr. Davis was awesome. He always brings a sense of humor to lecture and tells us about his day. He's very relaxed; cancelled class once, and ended class early once due to the lights flickering. There's something engrossing about learning U.S. History from a man with a British accent. I will definitely take part two from him. I didn't use the text.

Dr Davis is one of my favorite professors so far. His lectures are interesting and tell you exactly what are on the exams so take notes. Tests are matching and true false so nothing too bad. He will bump your grade up at the end of the semester if you don't miss a lot of classes. He also has a British accent that's fun to listen to.

Professor Davis' style of teaching is laid back and relatable. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about history. Most of his exams are based off the lectures. The tests are geared to make you think. Hint: take your time on the tests, not to get tripped up on the answer. I will take another class from this awesome educator again!

I LOVE his class. His class isn't easy, but he is very interesting to listen to and makes the lectures fun! He is also really funny, and the british accent isn't half bad either. As long as you go to class and listen, you'll do fine

He is my absolute favorite professor so far! Even if you're not interested in history he's still really interesting. He lectures pretty much every day, but it's easy to follow. Be sure to take notes! Another good thing is that he randomly cancels class every once in a while.

He's amazing! I love going to his class. He is hilarious, & I love listening to his British accent! TAKE NOTES! His tests are SUPER easy, but there's only 3 tests, & no other assignments, so you definitely do not want to blow one. Also, if you show up to class pretty much every day, he'll scale your grade. I definitely recommend taking his class.

Oh my goodness, professor davis has to be by far my favorite proffessor. He is AMAZING! His lectures are so interesting! His British accent makes it even better and he's so funny,but you have fun going to his class. I have his class at 9 am and I actually look FORWARD to his class because he's such an awesome teacher! tests = super easy! Take it!

Dr. Davis is by far one of the BEST professors I have had at UAB. I took him last semester and I am taking him again next. I would recommend him to anyone. He is very good at explaining things and keeping you interested in his lectures. He is very willing to help.

Great professor! His lectures are interesting and his tests are easy (all matching and true false) and he doesn't require you to write any papers. Take good notes and pay close attention to what he writes on the board. The only downside to this class is that your whole grade is based on 3 tests. But he's willing to help you if you just ask.
