I don't know how anyone could say she is a bad teacher. This woman knows more about education than anyone I ever met. Yea, the class isn't easy, but welcome to college. It is a great class for future teachers, and I recommend it highly,

The class I took was an entry level ed class full of many first year students. Most of the kids in my class were idiots. The class was easy if you pay attention, read the book, used the study guide and did the online quizzes. I turned in what I thought was a low quality paper and got an A. Learn to write kids!

This first-year seminar class was leaps and bounds easier than any class I've ever had. The "homework" consists of printing out Web pages and stapling them together. Quizzes are just about as easy. She treats everyone as if they were born yesterday and always refers to her bible, I mean textbook, no I mean bible. B-o-r-i-n-g.

Like someone else already mentioned, you have to be mature to appreciate her teaching. Too many profs at York teach like you are still in high school; she doesn't, which is refreshing. A true taste of higher education!

Participation is the key!!! the more you participate, the more she will like you. the tests and quizzes are hard.read, read, read. do the online tutorials....they help. she is an o.k. teacher, but you have to do alot of your own. she has walked out ofmy class alrady this semester. good luck.

If you do the work and participate in class, it won't be an issue. Too many complain about the class because they expect college to be an extension of High School...it isn't. Studying is actually required in this class. Go to her for help if you need it. She's cool. Just depends on your maturity.

Buy the study guide and study the multiple choice because the multiple choice exams come straight from the guide, the essays are killers. The TA's are very helpful. She tears apart every paper you write. Participate in class and she will like you.
