Claims she can't stick to syllabus because teaching a language is incredibly different. Funny because Owens was able to stick to a syllabus. Seriously disconnected from reality. Horrible Professor. Attempts to be nice but it'll really hurt you.

Probably the worst professor I've had at Geneseo. Very unclear with assignments. Tests and quizzes seem easy but she is a very hard grader. She is very nice but very ambigous with what she wants. Everyone is in the same boat where no one knows what is going on.

Comment:

Very nice person, and very passionate about German. However, she is unclear about assignments that she wants you to complete, and often will e-mail you with a new assignment within eight hours before it is due. If you ask questions she's very willing to help but if you email her she will complain that she has too many students emailing her.

She rants and does not even hint at what is important. It is the opposite of what teachers are supposed to do. She picks random identifications that are sometimes not even mentioned in class. It is really easy to get a B but the tests are too unfair to get an A. I wouldn't recommend this class.

I took this INTD Central European History because it was the only one left when I did my orientation I went in thinking it was going to be awful but Klima makes it interesting. She is a little weird so it makes class funnier. We watched a bunch of movies that weren't that bad, only wrote 1 paper over 2 pages I didnt open a book and got a b. Take it

Comment:

A very nice person, very funny, but her classes are SO ANNOYING! She doesn't teach anything in class that's useful and goes off on tangents, but still gives very difficult tests on the subjects she didn't teach. Too much emphasis on translation an too little on grammar topics- if you don't speak up and ask questions, she'll never teach a topic.

Well this class pretty much gave her an excuse to rant however much she wanted to, but it was simple. If your German is good before you take this, then you'll get a good grade. If not, you'll have to work a lot! She seems good at explaining hard grammar topics, and she's a very nice person. Try not to get her angry though.

Learning a new language is a lot of work so the fact that she sometimes gives a lot of homework does make sense. Sometimes she'll email the assignments the day before it's due, some students don't even recevie the e-mail until 11pm that night. This may not be her fault though due to the server. Tests are pretty straight-forward. You'll learn alot.

Awful professor and very unhelpful. Classes are a completely unorganized waste of time. She goes on tangets and rambles on for half of lecture about meaningless crap. She also wears shirts two sizes too small. Not everyone wants to see her stomach! She seems like a nice person, but she's not a good professor.

AWESOME! Had her for German and it was a rough time, but in Humn (where she's speaking english) it's suuuper easy! If you get an A on your first paper, you don't have to write a second one. Lectures are fun and her stories are hilarious!

Horrible professor, but AMAZING person! Her stories are hilarious and make class totally worth going to, but don't except to learn much from her in the way of German. Lot's of talking about beer though... Lectures very unorganized and often times pointless. But she's a fun person.

Dr. Klima is great, very intelligent, funny and helpful. I took this as a summer course and never dreaded going! She has tons of GREAT stories and really just knows so many interesting things! I loved this class because of her. I went all the time, participated in class, read just enough and got an A. I really did learn so much b/c of HER!!!

Worst professor I've ever had. The essays are impossible for you to write. She loves to share her political and religious views on you. All she does is ramble on and on and if you do not share her views she disregards you. DO NOT TAKE HER!

Had Professor Klima for German and Hum. II. I definitely enjoyed her for both. Definitely demanded more of students in German, though. Thanks in part to her, I'm fluent in German.

I cant say enough good things about this woman. I had her for humn over the summer... 3 hours every morning, & she made it completely bearable. She's got great stories, an adorable texas accent and is a wealth of knowledge about culture and language. Yes, when she gets excited her eyes do bug out of her head, and her texas drawl gets thicker. haha
