Professor Graham, or DG, is a great guy. He's a quirky old guy who's great to be around, and looks pretty much how you would imagine a chemistry professor. However, I wouldn't say he's the best at teaching material. To be clear you NEED the textbook- he only covers about half the material in class, so its a lotta self-teaching. a LOT.

The entire class was based off of four tests and very little homework. He absolutely fails to teach coherently about a subject and doesn't explain the actual math of the chemistry he teaches(which, beware! That's all the tests are!). He is almost always available but he doesn't provide help. He never shows specific problems of how to do anything.

Dr. Graham is one of the smartest professors I've had. He is hilarious and loves Chemistry. Because he is at such an advanced level, it is a little difficult to talk to him because of his complexity. His lectures help a lot if you pay attention. The tests are somewhat difficult. There is barely any partial credit given on the tests.

Not sure how this counts as a class to be honest. Just make sure to study for the midterm and the quizzes. The difficulty is not bad, the issue is with the labs. Not sure what the takeaway was with most of them and often we did ridiculous things like cut shapes in paper to approximate areas (I kid you not).

Very funny and interesting in lectures. All material requires application, so work all problems given and then some. Writing your own practice problems is helpful too. Exams are very difficult and there is virtually no partial credit.

The hidden pre-req for this course is Excel so you want to make sure you know how to use it to generate graphs from data. 4 hard quizzes, 1 hard midterm, 1 final paper, and consultation points. Most experiments are fairly straight forward but tedious. Should read lab reports or will be lost. Nothing surprising after CHEM 305.

Very clear and concise lectures using analogies and images rather than just words. Class consists of three tests, a final, and homework assignments. Discussion points are added to exams.

Dr. Graham is a great professor. Coming from Stanford, he knows his stuff really well. He is willing to help students outside of class if they have trouble with the lesson. He's really friendly and approachable. There's chem coaching before exams, and +4 bonus if you always go to class.

If you took AP Chemistry in high school, and if you are "OK" at chemistry, you can succeed in this class. As long as you do the homework and understand what is going on, you can easily get an A. His exams are not tricky, in fact they are very straightforward. I'd recommend him to anyone.

Graham is a very bright and friendly professor! however, his teaching can be VERY vague and does not clarify topics when asked for help. Tests are a little tricky, but not impossible to earn an A. Easy hw points and if you go to discussion, he adds points to the test.. of which you can use a note sheet! Not the hardest, but also not the easiest.

One of the best professors at Loyola. He teaches via stories and analogy. Good mix of textbook problems and professor created problems. Focus is more on concepts and direction of reactions, than tedious and precise calculations. Recommended!

Dr. Graham is a very nice guy, always willing to help during office hours. His tests however are very hard due to the fact that they are all word problems and the word choice is confusing. In addition, he uses a blue book for tests. His lectures are very dry and confusing. Took him during the summer, a very rough experience.

I LOVE DG. He's a cute, quirky old guy who makes an otherwise awful subject not so bad. Super friendly and always willing to help, but I never felt like I got much done at office hours. But his before-exam coaching sessions were excellent, and if you consistently do your work (HW, litmus tests, review old exams), and you'll be fine.

Personally, I really liked Graham. His tests reflected the material taught and the Litmus Tests and homework were great resources for practice. Also, he always gave out at least two practice tests before every test and those were excellent study tools. Pay attention in lectures, skim the book and DO THE HOMEWORK and the tests will be a breeze!

DG does a good job of making a really boring subject interesting. He loads lectures up with plenty of jokes about blowing stuff up and professors driving volvos. I had him over the summer and he would call breaks to go watch the rain (which is what 2.5 hour long lectures need)

Horrible teacher. Very passionate but everything is a curveball. Tests are ridiculous. I took one to the tutoring center and it took the tutors and hour to figure out one question. TAKE SOMEONE ELSE.

He is absolutely horrible. His tests are ridiculous and every question is a curve ball. Nothing like the homework sets or discussion quizzes. Very unhelpful at office hours. Just rambles on about how you should try harder.

Dr. Graham is a funny guy and tries to make class interesting, but it's Chemistry... how interesting can it be? I had no interest in Chemistry and had not taken the class since my sophomore year in high school. His tests are pretty challenging but if you get a good grade on the final he gives you that grade. I barely passed this class..
