Great professor who makes the class comfortable for speakers of all levels. Would be more helpful if the professor would let us do more practice in speaking than making us watch videos of speakers. Your classmates are fascinating, pay attention. Very easy class, the tests are important but he helps you with the information.

I ABSOLUTELY loved him and his classes. He is the best, honestly. Always kept us entertained. I loved hearing about all these different people in my class and if it hadn't been so early, I would have gone to every single class, no qualms about it. I recommend Public Speaking. So much fun!

Best professor at chapman university BY FAR. he is a speech GOD. Take this class and be a wizard! guaranteed A if you are. He is pretty muhc a standup comedian, just take this class, even if you arent a comm major. Its worth it.

It's like a comedy hour/story time in this class. The Profethor throws the text book away on the very first day. He wears costumes and is not afraid to be silly to get a point across. He teaches by example...I'm able to use these skills elsewhere. Class speeches were also entertaining. TAKE THIS CLASS WHILE YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Prof Doetkott is probably the best prof that Chapman has. I couldn't wait to get to class. Make sure and take this 09-10 year as it is cetain that this format is ending. This is a shame because this class is life changing for a tremendous number of students. Thank you Prof Doetkott for all that you have done for your students. You are the best!

Its helps. Sort of. I was pretty deathly afraid of public speaking before...still afraid. More practice would have been good, but its not possible with the large class size, which is what's good about it in the first place. It really a self teach/self help thing, in the end. And YES, remember to take this 09-10 if you want to take it at all!!

This old man won't be here for that much longer (let's be honest, he's OLD) and it would be a shame to miss this Chapman favorite. Apparently, the 09-10 year will be the last he can teach in his regular format, so sign up! Everyone's speeches never fail to entertain and you'll get over your fears quickly! This class is so much fun. If you don't like the teachers, at least coming in and just listening to speeches was awesome. They're entertaining and you don't have much to do in the class. Even if the class doesn't make you less scared to speak in public, you know that you can do it because you had to. Doetkott is fun and be a wizard!

Doetkott is such a ****. This class seriously changed my life. I wasn't particularly scared of public speaking beforehand, but it surely boosted my confidence in speaking and gave me the drive to make it a career. Will certainly change you. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

The Speech God is amazing! I was so hesitant on taking this class because I hate public speaking but I am SO glad I took it. Best class ever and nothing like your ordinary speech class. So entertaining.

I learned nothing in this class and sat through hours of boring lectures....DO NOT BELIEVE THE HHYPE...Doetkott is arrogant and unsympathetic and will nail you to the wall if your late or you miss class. This class is a total waste of time and a complete joke. The midterm everyone failed but all got good grades due to the curve. STAY AWAY!

i honestly dont get what the big deal is about this class. you learn absolutely nothing about public speaking...you have tests on it where he tries to be more funny than anything and almost everyone failed it. my fear of public speaking is still stronger than ever, if not worse! i only took it because i HAD too, not recommended
