Comment:

Korotkin is a very respected professor and he is a nice guy. The problem is that he skips too many steps when he is explaining, students get lost in the explanation. Otherwise he will answer all your questions in class and is a very fair grader. In other words, if your Cal 1 and Cal 2 were not very good,avoid taking him.

He does not care about the students learning, passing, or failing. He comes in with his iPad, solves problems on the board without explaining how to solve. He isn't helpful when you email or speak with him. He expects the content is too obvious and every should know it.

His lectures are very hard to follow since he just writes formulas on the board without any structure. He barely follows the outline. He always expects students to be up to date with the material and once did a pop-up quiz at the end of a lecture on the material covered during the very same lecture. His tests are short and the questions are hard.

He doesn't know how to speak English well, you won't understand anything because of his accent. I wouldn't recommend. If you see his name on your schedule than cancel the class.

The class is not hard, but honestly during lectures you will only understand 10% of the material, for the other 90% check Paul's online notes and YouTube. If you have a strong background in calculus, you can skip class.

The course was kinda easy and the grader (which is not him) isn't rough , but you gonna have to study a lot by yourself and I wouldn't recommend going to lectures, cause he basically skips 10 steps per steps which makes it hard to follow.

The reasons why I wouldn't recommend this prof are that his notes aren't structured, he gets confused while writing on the board and that leads to him making many mistakes in the examples... He doesn't really follow the course outline in a way that we had a problem in the midterm that we were not supposed to study for, + his exams are really tough

I wouldn't say he's a bad prof. because it is very obvious he knows the material that he's teaching, BUT the way he teaches is not for students of first year! Also, he expects from students to know everything he is writing on the board. Get prepared to study alone or try attending the Tutorials.... if the Tuts are not good then drop it!

Hates students checking cell, makes comments out loud. Said everything was obvious, you should get right away. Did not show effort to provide additional assistance to students, not approachable. Tutors only graded a portion of the assignments, if you had a bad answer you lose marks, if the question graded was good, you got marks UNFAIR!

Lectures: he was messy, notes all over the board, hard to follow, did not explain in simple terms, lost track of outline - actually re-used an old outline which didn't include dates so it difficult to plan ahead for midterms. Midterm #1: it was decent. Midterm #2: difficult, picky questions. Final: ended up skipping the whole mass/force section.

He knows his stuff very well. But it's like he forgot how to teach material to someone who is learning it for the first time. Lectures are useless, I attended all of them but should have just done problems from the book instead, would have been a lot more productive. Crazy about phones and coming late to class.

I skipped a lot of his classes because I just could not follow whatever the heck he was saying/doing on the board. Legit put material that a lot of students have never seen in their lives. When asked about it, I was told to read about it at home. Early in the semester, he went extremely fast, as if we were already supposed to know the material.

He is all over the place, He skips steps when beginning to teach a new subject and expects you to know what he is doing. He is rude and a phone Nazi. Called out anyone who was late the first class then showed up late the rest of the year. Always blocks the board making note taking a huge hassle. I did not look at any notes I took bc of the mess.
