I was so afraid to take biology in college, but she made me like biology so much more! Her lectures are pretty boring, not gunna lie, but she tries to be funny sometimes and a lot of the time she lets class out 15-30 minutes early. Tests are super easy and she posts her powerpoints and study guide online.

Comment:

McMillan is AMAZING. She teaches biology concepts so clearly to non-science majors and made me genuinely interested in biology. Her tests and quizzes are so easy and the group projects examine controversial events like vaccination and genetic testing. While I dreaded the science requirement, McMillan made 101 the best and easiest it could be.

Professor McMillan is incredible! She is really great about not just making her students memorize and regurgitate information. She taught Bio102 using case studies and real world scenarios so it was really easy to understand. Most homework and classwork is super easy group work. Only 2 tests and no final. There are extra credit opportunities!

TAKE HER FOR BIO 211! She is amazing. If you are into bio and are ready to learn take her. It is a lotttt of information but all power points are online and she has study guides. It's interesting so if you want to learn bio then take her. Tests are short answer so know your stuff but she grades easily. Lots of videos in class

I absolutely LOVED this teacher. My favorite teacher so far. She is soooo interesting and shows little videos to help you remember better! Tests can be a little hard, just study! EXTRA CREDIT (up to 6 points on overall grade)!! AMAZING TEACHER!!

I had McMillan for my FYSM (the credit counted toward BIOL 102). If you have the opportunity to take her FYSM course (outdoor experiences), TAKE IT! Field trips, easy completion grades, and a few group assignments make for a great class. There are three exams that are slightly difficult (multiple choice)... but, McMillan is passionate and helpful.

This is the most fun biology class that I have ever taken. The summer class is a bit different than the spring/fall classes, the smaller summer class allows fpr outdoor, hands-on field trips and experimentation. I love this class and anyone who says this class is hard is just not trying. The book is not necessary, all the test are from the lectures

tests are harder than they seem when you're taking them. but she gives so much extra credit opportunities it's a big help. if you do all the extra credit then the class is super easy. DO be sure that you get a good "team" because they don't change and can really drag you down if they don't carry their weight.

She is so nice, if you put in effort. There are a lot of group projects but they really aren't that bad. My group wasn't great but I still ended up with an A in the class. NO FINAL! just 2 tests and all quizzes are announced. She even lets you correct wrong answers on quizzes for extra points.

She does group work so basically you get stuck with the group for the entire semester. if you are with geniuses you luck out. if you are with idiots... you are screwed. She is so pessimistic (as stated on her mug). And doesn't help you even in office hours. She had no sympathy for ANYONE

She is strict and makes you do everything in groups except for tests and is unforgiving if something gets messed up with the project. She is hard when it comes to that stuff. However, she is nice on a one on one basis but never seems to be avaliable. I would try and get someone else if you can.

You are assigned a group at the begining of the semester and you are stuck with them for the whole time. Since you only do group work, your grade basically depends upon your teamates. She will hold you responsible for when they mess up. Tests are multiple choice, but are specific and hard. I havent learned much at all. She is a hard grader FYI
