He grades way too harshly and give no feedback even when asked. I would not take his class at all. If it is mandatory for your major wait another semester if no other classes are open. If your art does not fit his narrow perspective it will hurt your grade and GPA.

I learned some good techniques in this class and I did my best .Even though I tried hard the highest grade I got was a B plus. My art style is more impressionistic but this object drawing class is very exact.I recommend for those who already have skill.P.S. you draw a lot of bottles, and sit on uncomfy stools without cushion

He does not know what he is doing. He uses youtube videos to teach the class because he does not know anything about photoshop or the cameras. We were behind every single class and when it came to printing out the photos he was an absolute mess. Also, instead of addressing the class as a whole, he goes to everyone individually.

Worst professor in the history, when you ask something he pretend to put atention but hi will walk away with telling you an answer. Professor Tonner Ed just walk to clase and tell you wat to do with out showing you how to. In all his class hi say that he WAS grate professor and I agre he WAS IN THE PAST. Tonner is a 90's professor not good.

He has high expectations, and if you follow directions and work hard, you will go farther and create better than you ever thought you were capable of. He works with each student, and helps them to really "see" the subject more accurately. He offers suggestions which, if followed, improve each piece by leaps and bounds.

Ed Toner can only be described as a "Square" and I am forced to resort to such dated terminology from the 90's because it is apt. He is dated, and nerdy, one might guess mildly autistic as things have to go by his very narrow perspective. I find my self struggling in this class much harder to make passing grades than in my academic classes.

Worst teacher I've ever had. I'm an art major and have kept a perfect 4.0 until his class. I would not recommend him. I've asked him questions directly and he just walks away. Nothing positive to say. He obviously doesn't care about his students. Never taking him again.

This class is extremely rewarding if you put forth the effort. Mr. Toner is very helpful and nice but you also have to want to do the work. No drawing is going to come out perfect first try. This is not an easy A class, Mr. Toner grades on effort as well as quality. Great class.

This class is extremely hard. Do not go into this class thinking your going to breeze through it because your not. As long as your determined and and take his class seriously you will do well. I made great improvements with my figurative drawing in his class and am glad I took it. If your interested in art then take him, but if not don't even try.

I took his class for drawing. Having no prior experience with drawing of any kind, I thought this would be a great start. WRONG!!! He would put very complicated things in front of you and if you didn't do it the way he wanted he'd tell you "You're doing it wrong."DO NOT TAKE HIM! He forced me to stay in class even though I had an emergency.

I took him for painting and the class was pretty relaxed and easy as long as you do what you're supposed to and don't text or get distracted from your artwork. He plays Pandora and walks around to comment on your work and is pretty chill. Pretty easy A as long as you come to class and do all your assignments( have to put a lot of time in them)

Ed is absolutely the best teacher I've ever had, hands down! He is so helpful and level-headed. He makes you work, but it's really worth it if you enjoy art. I've taken every class that he offers and with that I could take them all over again.

He has a lot of knowledge about the art field, but not good student social skills. If you miss classes or do not do exactly as he wishes with your assignments, you will not get along with him. His classes are very "by the book" so you will learn what you need to know, it's just not very fun.
