Dr. O'Quinn is awesome, and I loved this class! She really cares about what she is teaching and the students. She gives so many helpful handouts and suggestions for future teachers. A lot of reading, but I loved the books. Do the assignments (written responses and projects) thoughtfully, and you will do well in the class. Take her for any class!!

She is the BEST. So helpful and really cares for her students. She will do anything in her power to help you and gives you lots of resources. You have to read a book for every class but the books aren't that bad. Read and show up to class/participate and you'll do fine. Take her any chance you get!

I really enjoyed her class! You do read a lot but the books are normally pretty interesting and you get to pick from a new list every week. I learned more in her class than in any of my other English classes for my degree! Take her any chance you get, you get a lot of great resources for your classroom!

Greatest teacher i have ever had. i hope i can have her for my internship advisor. i learned more in this class than any other one. she is a great lady, a great teacher, and a wonderful person. this class is amazing. it will really make you want to be the best that you can be as a teacher!

If you want to be a pushover teacher who believes character maps are a good way to get high school kids interested in literature, O'Quinn is definitely the gal for you. Otherwise, she's just a high school teacher burnout who couldn't hack teaching 15 year olds. Her methods are outdated at the least.

Great! I got so many strategies and books for my class! Hard work, and tons of reading, but the books are usually short and you'll probably find at least one you like, if not more. You will definitely learn lots about teaching literature to kids. I kept everything from this class.
