Its an online class that requires you to complete the assignments on your own time but assignments are due weekly. As long as you do the work, the class is easy. Classwork consist of watching a PowerPoint video & each video has a quiz. Take notes while watching the video to pass quiz. There are also response assignments, midterm, & final.

One of the easier online classes I have taken, it is a very simple class to follow, you read the lectures every week and you are guaranteed to pass the quiz every week. Extra credit is offered and midterm and tests go based of the lectures.

Dr Case is such an intelligent man. His stories are inspirational and rather halirous. I had a hard time with a few of my papers, and he met with me with a smile on his face each time, helping me create a concise and clear paper. This man knows his stuff and enjoys teaching it! Long lectures, but easy class. He gives you the classnotes online

Extremely passionate professor. Never a dull moment in his class due to his ability to keep the material interesting. The tests come right off the notes in class and the vocabulary in the glossary of the book. Very easy class to pass if you put in some effort.

Dr. Case is awesome... he lectures very enthusiastically and his class is really fun. If you attend class, listen to his lectures, you should definitely receive a high grade in his class. His exams are right off of his lectures and the vocab in the book. There is one final 8 page paper, but that's about as "hard" as this class gets!

Material covered in the class is difficult to understand, his power point lectures usually don't help too much he goes too fast most of the students aren't able to follow along. Many papers due but the grading on them is strait forward. Overall: Don't panic, the subject matter is incredibly intimidating but exams are easy, study what he gives you.

Emerson is a fantastic professor who is full of enthusiasm. As a graduate student, he has expressed that the graduate classes are what keep him sane, so perhaps he has extra affection for us. Nonetheless, the man knows what he's talking about.

a lot of work. if you like to procrastinate, don't take this class. a lot of reading, writing, and paying attention! I repeat: this class is not for the potheads and slackers out there. Dr. Case is a great, wise professor with years of experience. He enjoys his job and it shows.

Case is funny, entertaining, caring, and fair. I took the 4 week summer class and got an A...I was dreading this course, but he made me understand and enjoy linguistics so much. He is wonderful. Print out his notes before class and memorize the definitions. this class is easy to pass if u study his notes and dont miss class.

I took this class in the summer, and yes, you do have to study. If you approach this class as a college student and study, as you must do, this class is not that difficult. Come to class, read your notes and this class can be fun. Dr. Case is the best linguistics teacher at CSUB.

This is by far one of the best english/linguistics professor at CSUB. If you get the chance, take a class with him. The class is tough in that there is a lot of material to cover, and there is three papers. Overall, a good class and an excellent professor.
