He genuinely cares about his students and his community, and it shows. He won't hesitate to help with personal issues. If it comes out of his mouth, it will be on the exam. If you know this, you'll do fine. Exams are long, like 200 q's. I felt like I earned a C, but got a B. Erick Barnes is an amazing man. Take any class with him that you can.

Barnes is one of those professors I'll never forget. He's a former cop, so knows his stuff. Some of the material seemed borderline conspiracy theory, but was definitely real. Mind. Blown. His lectures are amazing - the material, his personality, everything. He wants his students to succeed, also wants them to participate. One of my favorite profs.

Great Professor. Always willing to help, all you have to do is ask. Difficult class, but if you show up, take good notes, and study, you will do just fine on the exams. He makes everything so interesting and makes sure you understand the material. 10/10 would recommend.

I took his sex crimes class and absolutely loved it. His lectures are great and he explains everything very clearly. He assigns one paper; apart from that, you get a midterm, final, and participation points. This is not a class you can slide by in, but if you put the effort in for the tests, you will do very well.

By far, the best professor I have ever had. He has inspired me in so many ways in which I cannot explain. He actually makes me want to be in school for the rest of my life (if possible) and continue to take his courses.
