I have taken Spanish 162 two other times before I took Bakhtiarova. I failed everytime I took this class before her. Then I took Span 162 over the summer break and got a A. Bakhtiarova is challenging but a really awesome proffessor. She makes you work for it, but shes also there to help you.

DO NOT take this professor if you are a beginner. She has no patience and is condescending towards students with questions. She is rude and disrespectful and expects you to learn everything on your own, which is fine if you are not learning spanish for the first time. Her answers to questions are very unclear and is no help outside of class.

She is best Spanish teacher I've ever had. She can get "short" sometimes, but it happens with people who do not take the subject seriously. Galina is super passionate about what she teaches and will help you with anything you need if she knows that you're serious too. Participate, do homework and you're good. Easy A

Participate in her class and she will love you - sit there and say nothing - she will get frustrated with you. Best language teacher I have ever had. Would take all Spanish with her if I could.

GALINA IS A DOLL. SHE IS NOT MEAN AT ALL, BUT SHE IS INTIMIDATING. SHE LOVES, LOVES, LOVES WHAT SHE IS TEACHING ADN THEREFORE SHE CAN GO OFF IN TANJENTS, BUT SHE IS EXTREMLY INTELLIGENT AND IF YOU DO YOUR PART YOU WILL DO WELL IN THE CLASS. AS FAR AS GRAMMAR, SHE ONLY FOCUSES ON IT IN YOUR ESSAY. IF YOU PARTICIAPTE YOUR GOLDEN.

She's very knowledgeable about hispanic culture, but don't expect to learn much about grammer. She expects you to know certain things that you may not know, and gets very impatient with beginners. I would have to say though, from my experience that she's the best in the dept., compared to the other professors. She a pretty fair grader too!

She's very nice and is very patient. It was the easiest A i have ever gotten in a course. Just read the book, do the workbook, and listen to the cds. You have to do a powerpoint presenation which was cake. Her exams are easy. This was also my first spanish class.

Galina is very knowledgeable. She is, however, very impatient with the students particularly with beginers.She also tends to be a bit disorganized and strays from the syllabus. She is nice though. I would rate her class as average.
