Comment:
I took this class because of my interest in the FORG minor. The class itself is interesting, but the professor makes me dread it. If you leave your clicker or are late to class you may as well not come because he will not give you attendance credit EVEN IF you sit through the entire class. Typically only offered at 8:30AM. AVOID if possible!

One of the worst professors I've had at Trinity. Doesn't care about his students, their success or their well being.

Do NOT take any classes with Professor Gunderson. He has the most absurd grading scale so you really don't know how you are doing in the class until the exam. His lectures are long and monotonous, and he often goes on tangents that do not align with the syllabus. He has a very strict policy and never accommodates, regardless. GPA WILL FALL

Do not take this class!! While the class topics itself can be somewhat interesting, his grading system is ridiculous. He prides himself on the fact that he has only given out 11 A's in his entire career which has probably been about 40 years long. Do not take this class.

Pro. Gunderson is really an amazing guy. He has apparently revamped his econ 214 class since 2008, as everyone I know in the class (including myself) really enjoys it. Gunderson is clearly passionate about both what he teaches, his students, and learning. Super interesting random facts in class, fair grader, readings not necessary. A+.

Don't Take This Class!!! It will lower your GPA, even if you go to class all the time and take diligent notes. The multiple choice exams are worthless at testing your knowledge of the course and he knows it. Trust what everyone here is saying and don't take the class!

BEWARE. Seriously, listen to me. GOOD STUDENTS GET C's OR LOWER, PROBABLY LOWER. He has the most flawed way of assessing students. The average of the final was a 54 and he will give you a 54 not just a C- to pass. This is the worst most frustrating class i have ever taken in my life. LISTEN TO ME

214 with Gunderson is the worst class I have ever taken in my entire time that I have had an education. Don't take this class, it really has nothing to do with economics. The grading curve is useless and most of the class doesn't get above a C. Gunderson thinks he is some sort of an entrepreneuurial hotshot, but hes just a low grade history teacher

The subject material is very interesting and that is about the only positive. Otherwise the class sucks. I studied for hours and knew the material very well, however, the tests are impossible. Each test is 25 multiple choice and worth 4 points and the wording of the questions are ridiculous. Only take this class if you want to lower your GPA!!

Gunderson is a great guy, and you will learn a lot in the two classes that he teaches at Trinity (which are basically the same thing.) His grading system however is seriously flawed. You can understand the material better than 95% of the students in the class and not be able to show that in your papers or exams. They are a total crap-shoot.

The most engaging teacher that I have come across as of yet. Tests are hard, but grades easily on papers to make up for it and has a ridiculous grading curve. Can easily pull off a B+ without ever doing any outside work. Great teacher, can tell he loves the material

This professor is fair. gets a bad rep because of his grading system. his system is pretty much a preset curve which will actually help you. as long as you go to class and take good notes you are set for the class. don't even have to read the textbook or any other readings. class is really interesting, highly recommended

He is a nice enough guy if you show initiative in class. However, he is on a MAJOR power trip. He will take any opportunity to show you that you did something wrong i.e. not doing the exact perfect format when sending an e-mail. He underestimates the intelligence of his students. If you don't mind feeling dumb when you're not, he's ok.

Terrible! Class notes and Readings have nothing to do with the Tests. I spent hrs reading the books and class notes. During the final, he put facts and people on there that we never studied. (Oh yeah, the avg. final was a 51%--actually it was more like th
