He talks A LOT. Sometimes about Anthropology, most times its a story that starts off with, "if I had a nickle..." It was charming at first, but now it's laborious to listen to. The labs are easy, he just grades based off whether you did it or not. Although, while it is a lab there is a lot of lecture where all quizes and tests are based off of it.

basically, what the majority of the people already said, he goes off topic, talks about his view on religion and politics and his life in Africa. sometimes I don't even know if he is talking about his own experience and view or is he lecturing, sigh.

Take quality notes and you should be set. The info you need for tests is clearly outlined in the lecture slices, although you may want to sit in the front couple rows. He analyzes current events and contemporary human behavior at the beginning of every class. I loved this class and stayed interested in the topic the entire semester.

Not the best professor at teaching anthropology if you really want to learn about it. He often goes off topic talking about his own views in religion and politics, which has nothing to do with the class. his power points are also not available to his students online. Take someone else for anthro.

Goes off subject alot, barely talks about anthropology. Tests are just memorizing notes. Makes snarky comments about religion.

Annoying. came in here to learn about Anthropology and ends up yapping about 911, his political views, his personal life, KKK, literally the ENTIRE CLASS! Sprinkles a little of Anthropology here and there and then goes back to yapping about his personal life and stories about other students. If you want to learn about his personal life take him.

I could see why people like him but hes just not my kind of professor. You show up, take notes, and then you take the test. If youre the type of student that needs guidance then dont take him. Doesnt give study guides. You literally have to memorize your notes for the tests. Fun personality I guess but he didnt know half of the class names.

Really cares about his students. Humor is not appreciated by all, and he detours from the lecture a lot to talk about different topics that concern him, but it does make the class a bit more fun if its early in the morning and you never cared for bio anthro.

Such a great professor! He really knows what he's talking about. The class is based on lectures. He tells you exactly what to write down from the slides to study. Quizzes are word-for-word how its written on his slides. Really funny too! Definitely recommend.

Professor Ramos is one of the best professors at P.C.C.! He is highly educated with a Master's, J.D., and PhD, but do not let that intimidate you. He is down to earth and gives AMAZING lectures. His slides provide everything you need to ace his quizzes and exams. Take his class. You will not regret it!

Professor Ramos is such an excellent guy. Hes very clear and very understandable on what we will be talking about during lecture. There will be notes on every class meet so just be prepared. Quizzes are very easy. they are based of notes so if you miss class make sure to get them from someone. (do not take his class if you get offended quickly)

this is what happens in class. he lectures, and then he starts talking about the most random things ever. he talks about his family. his step-kids and his wife. that class was boring. so please take someone else. theres 2 quizzes (25pts) and two exams (100pts). you also need to buy a $60 book to read cuz there are about 30 questions on each exam.

Gil is my favorite professor! He is absolutely hilarious and really laid back. His class is super easy too. Two quizzes, two tests, which are straight from his lecture slides, but the tests have around ten questions from the textbook. Even though I took him a while ago, he is still a common topic with me and friends who took him. Take Gil's class!

hands down my fav prof at pcc. extremely funny in a way some may view offensive, but if you dont have a stick up your tush, you'll enjoy his savage sense of humor. Majority of tests are off of lecture notes 85-90 questions are straight from his slides, remaining 10-15 from book. 2 tests, no ec, but still easy A if u just study the terms.

class is one midterm, final, two quizzes and a presentation so points are tight. he doesnt take attendance but you need the notes to pass the class. the book is just a bunch of articles so you can gather online. he is very educated and loves the subject so he makes it interesting, although lectures can be a bit dry

Gilbert Ramos is hilarious. He is really outgoing and easy to talk to. Tests all come from your notes. If you memorize your notes you will easily obtain an A in the class because the tests look exactly like the notes. Overall, a super easy A. Highly recommended. You will learn a lot and you will laugh a lot in this class. Take him.

Although anthropology isn't my intented major, I enjoyed learning about the subject, due to his charismatic and bright attitude. Took his honors class over the Summer, and there were lectures every day. A very humorous man, yet he does like to go off-topic for class discussions (ranges from politics to everyday life). READ & u will do well.
