in the beginning he is over bearing and hard to understand, between his tough grading and odd style of teaching the class seems hard. as the year goes on he lets up a little and makes the class easier

By far my best professor yet. Got behind on some work and he had no issue let me catch up. Communication was awesome. If I have any more math courses that he teaches, I will be taking him.

Comment:

Terrible teacher, doesn't teach nor do anything to help. He constantly will take 30 to 45 mins and argue with the book or computer on whether he was right or not, and usually ended up being wrong. Classes are a joke with him. Just be ready to teach yourself!

Dr. Chi is a nice guy, he will try to help you, though some comments from him might sting. However, if you are not good at math or hate it, it will not be the class for you, especially if you are easily distracted by computers, which are used every class day except tests. Do go EVERYDAY, you get bonus!

I attended every class but one and still managed a D+. He doesn't care. I would ask him question and he would tell me in front of the entire class that I didn't understand or work as hard as I should because I was a lazy American. So I got to the point where I stopped asking. Worst teacher ever!!

Dr. Chi was helpful all semester. As long as you attend class and make an effort, you are guaranteed at least a C. If you show that you're trying your absolute hardest, you grade at the end will reflect it. Calculus 2 sucked, but doing the work and quizzes helped me learn much more than I expected.

Pro Chi may not be the most fun professor there is but he really does care about your achievement in his class. He understands that we as students have outside lives and gives extensions on homework and quizzes. Tests are based exactly off homework and quizzes. All work was online though. We did come to the class so he could review material & teach

People give him a bad break. He is hard to understand, but he grew on me throughout the semester. He is very understanding. If you don't get an assignment done on time and ask him to open it, he will. He curved most of of our tests. If you go to class and do the final guide you get major bonus points. He tries to be funny, which is funny.

I think he's nice and tries to be funny but let's facet, he's hard to understand and EVERYTHING is on the computer ..I'd be better off not going to class and teaching myself except for the attendance rule.. I think the class is easy but I did preap and ap math in high school soo...

This class IS hard but if you do your hours and do all your homework and quizzes you will pass. You need to go in for extra help and he will help you. At the end of the semester he will even raise your grade if you are close enough. I needed a C and I was at a C- so he gave me extra points!

All of the HW, Quizes and tests should be completed online. The thing is computer is not perfect. The professor put study guide on the blackboard and the study guide includes the same questions as the final. However, many students fail to open the study guide and we can not solve the questions!! That is meaningless!!! Also, the text is over$150.

WOW! how can people say the enjoyed this class, I passed this class but this professor is probably the worse in the math dept. You cant understand 1 bit! Anybody but this guy is a wise choice

Very hard class. Everything is online through coursecompass. He does not teach you how to do the stuff during class time. Only have to go to class 1 time a week unless you have questions. Not very helpful when answering questions. Very hard to understand at times! If I had to do it all over again I would take a different professor

If you are really good in math, there's no need to show up to the lectures. Just do your homework, go to your class to turn in the homework, take the quiz, you're done. MATH 102 was extremely easy for me, I have an A in the class and haven't been to a single lecture in 1 1/2 months.

One of the best math teachers I've ever had. As long as you pay attention in class you'll do well, and he makes sure you understand the material - takes time during and after class to answer questions. Restored my confidence in being able to do well in math.

If I cannot understand the teacher then I am not going to learn anything in the class. Above not being able to understand him, he did not have the time to spend with students who needed help and he didn't allow his TA's to do their jobs. Course was of no use and I have to retake it because I failed it due to not being taught the material.
