Comment:

Although Professor Grigorian is tough he means well. I believe he is one of the greatest most caring teachers at FSU. This class has made me work harder than any class I have ever worked for but it was worth it. He changed my study habits & I learned SO much from him. If you're willing to work he's willing to work with you. Lots of extra credit

Comment:

People don't want to say it: Man is verbally abusive. Most students think he's funny to cope. In no school should a professor be allowed to say "your all going to fail and i'm not going to help you" ,"You guys don't try or do the homework" when you all do. Doesn't let you see what you did wrong on mymathlab. Belittles you during office hours.

Grigorian's class is 100% what you make of it. if you do the practice problems online, go to SKOOLERS (yes, seriously get the packets, it will save you) and always show up for class, i promise you will get an A. With all of his extra credit it's hard not to. But it's easy to fail if you don't use your resources. He seems scary but he means well.

Terrible. Absolutely ABYSMAL. I tried with this class, I really did, but I had to drop it within a few weeks because I couldn't take it anymore. His handwriting is the worst I've ever seen, he has an extremely abrasive teaching style, and blatantly disrespects students. I don't think that he's a bad person, but he's the worst teacher I've ever had.

Like others have said, Grigorian isn't a bad teacher himself, but makes you work for your grade and EC. Don't think you'll get a decent grade in the class if you miss more than 2+ classes/homeworks, you wont receive any extra credit. And definitely buy the skoolers packet before the first exam, it was one of my biggest regrets, it will save you.

This class was unnecessarily difficult. Yeah, math classes aren't supposed to be easy but it should not require that much work for ONE class. I was drowning. A lot of material and that understandable but he was not helpful in any way shape or form. Oh and btw that if you miss a hw its an absence too. Glad this guy isn't teaching this class anymore.

Comment:

Grigorian was not a bad teacher at all. All the people who withdrawed are blaming him, when they shouldn't. Trig is not an easy class with a lot that needs to be covered, what do people expect? I haven't heard of a math class at FSU that was "easy" and didn't have weekly quizzes. If people actually did all the optional HW, they would understand it.

Many students think of Grigorian is a boogeyman, but he's really a great professor. He cares so much about his students, he will still come to lecture even if he's in pain or sick (he's an old guy). He expects the same dedication from his students, but not many students have it. He gives lots of extra credit, but only if you have perfect attendance

Moves fast through the material with horrible handwriting. Always seemed like a back and forth between caring and not. You cant miss class or show up even five minutes late. Funny at times but dislikes our generation. Does hold long reviews before exams. Spend hours daily studying and still fail the quizzes. Just take it with anyone else.

Grigorian is notorious for being tough, but he is not so tough that you can't pass. He offers generous extra credit and provides lots of optional HW problems, so that you can pass if you put in the work. He moves through the material quickly, so spend time studying outside of class to do well. Tbh he is funny, caring, and overall a great guy, 10/10

SAVE YOURSELVES and take this with literally any one other than this man. I wasn't doing well at the beginning and decided to go to his office hours. I felt even more belittled and hopeless after asking for his help. Don't even buy skoolers because it is only 1/2 of what the quizzes and exams are really gonna be like. HORRIBLEEEEEEEEEEE.

If you want to have a life, do not take this class. I was studying 5 hours+ EVERY DAY for this class and I still couldn't do well. I get that some people need to study more than others but this was just INSANE. HEAVY ACCENT cant understand anything he says. I made the right decision to drop this class. HE IS SO RUDE. Honestly 1/2 the class dropped.

It's a love hate relationship with grigorian. He knows how to present the concepts but he moves really fast and expects you to get to know it right then and there. DO NOT MISS A CLASS OR BE LATE! and NO PHONES! he will take away extra credit if you do or he will mark it as an absence. Gotta have tough skin to take him but he's sweet in office hours

The worst professor Ive ever had. Weekly class group quizzes, weekly quizzes, weekly homework quizzes w/ ONE attempt, & the exams are a majority of your grade. Never been so stressed about a class in my life. He's not helpful at all, doesnt let you use a calculator, & doesn't let you miss a single class. Dont take this class if you care about gpa

Probably the worst class I've ever taken in my life. Had never struggled so much to learn such a simple topic. As an introductory math course, he makes it so unnecessarily hard to pass. Gives lots of extra credit, but only available to those that do not miss a single class and assignment. Never puts grades in, so you'll never know what you have.

Comment:

If you go to lectures, take notes, pay attention, and participate in his class it's a solid start. The catch is a lot of time out of class is required to pass this course. I took this in the summer of '19 and studied a few hours every few days. In the fall/spring I would have studied a probably 7 hours a week, maybe more depending on the chapter.

Attendance is mandatory, but you wont learn anything during the lectures combined with how fast paced he teaches new concepts, terrible handwriting, and his disregard for our understanding of a topic. Went to his office hours once and you couldnt pay me to go again to get belittled instead of taught. Not sure how he is still a professor

This is probably the worst class I've ever taken at FSU. Grigorian speeds through lectures and does not care who gets left behind. He is not understanding when students do not understand concepts he deems easy. He does give extra credit but it's only for students who score 70s on quizzes.I have never felt so discouraged and helpless about a class.
