Herr Todd is a good guy but not the best teacher. He goes really fast and for the beginner level German class, doesn't spend enough time on essential building blocks of the language. There is homework before every class. Do the outside-of-class culture activities and the vocabulary. Tests are pretty difficult. Final is cumulative and pretty easy.

I took his "Topics in German Culture" class. this is the first time he taught it. Books are in English translated from German. all novels. first book 730 pgs, second 90 pgs, and third 330 pgs. get ready to read and have weekly papers. class discussions can be pretty hit or miss but sometimes they help. stay on top of the reading. trust me.

Super nice guy and helpful when you ask for it, but class participation is part of your grade so if you don't like speaking in front of people, it's probably not the class for you. I took him for History of Berlin in film and it was ok. Also he's really good at emailing back fast (which is important)

Oh, Herr Todd. Had him in both Music and German classes. If you put forth effort in the class, he will return that effort on his part twofold. Never ceased to have an entertaining, yet enlightening class with him. Take from him and pick his brain and you'll learn so much. Genau!

German was one of the most difficult classes I've had to take at TCU, but the reward is worth it. Todd is a really neat guy, with lots of knowledge in other areas beyond German.

If you don't do your homework, participate in class, or just don't go, don't expect to do well. Foreign language isn't easy! Todd's (usually) a fair grader and he's always willing to listen and help you out. He's funny and extremely knowledgable, overall, I enjoyed his classes.

He really loves teaching and will give you his focused attention. The class requires work and effort, but you will learn ALOT. His way of teaching is differnet than most, but very personalized and hands on. The best way to learn German!

Well im the first to rate him! I honestly think hes a great teacher always willing to help...you can do really well in his class if you just do the work..I find his exams rather easy and dont study much (but then again i luv langs!)
