Unless youre naturally good at science, do not take this mans class. He doesnt make study guides for the tests, his teaching style doesnt match the difficulty of the tests and he rambles too much. Good luck.

Professor Diem is an excellent teacher! He brings humor and spark to everyday class and makes learning fun. You can tell he cares that students are learning and doing well and offers many different things to guarantee you succeed!!

Great professor. I honestly was worried about all the bad reviews he had but when I started his class it was a pretty easy class. We had four exams but only 2 counted. I wish every professor had his grading system. It really helped my gpa!

He really wasn't THAT bad. I SUCK at science and probably could have pulled out an A had I tried harder. He's super disorganized but he is a nice guy, which made it bearable. It was really boring but he at least seemed to be enjoying it. If you rally hard enough, he might give you extra credit. Maybe.

His presentations have barely anything to do with the test so you must go to class and listen. His tests are pretty hard but only your top 2 grades matter. All his tests/online quizzes are original so you wont find anything online. Hes also a pretty funny but has a dark sense of humor at times so dont take him if you get offended easily.

Horrible professor & huge dork. Tough grader but lets you redo some assignments. Exam is only essay questions. Makes you review all of his Geog1112 labs in Geog4784. Do not expect an A if you take this class. I would not recommend him for Geog1112.

Pretty decent class. He's not the best teacher, but he makes up for it with his grading. He only takes the two of the highest test grades(took four) and two of the highest quiz grades(took three and had there attempts for all of them). Attendance is apart of your grade so make sure you go! There's also an extra credit opportunity on the last day

One of the worst professors I have ever had, gave no help when I didn't understand concepts and messed up grades over and over throughout the semester. TOUGH grader. Should have been an easy class but was not. On top of that, not a good at teaching at all.

I CANNOT SCIENCE. I study theatre, but I have the ability to be objective. I've never seen anyone be more efficient in how htey handle their calss. You have to know how to apply what you've learned to earn your grades. I think that's fair. HOWEVER if you are like me, as long as you go to class and make an effort he can be EXTREMELY generous.

Smart guy, TERRIBLE TEACHER. Has a bad habit of assuming that everyone should just understand SPSS as well as a tenured professor. Completely flippant about the fact that over half the class was worried about failing a week before grades were due. Jokes it off and laughs, while people are genuinely stressed! You HAVE to take him for this class...

If you are taking this course, I highly advise you to take digital cartography, intro to gis and advanced gis. Diem teaches this course as if you have already taken those courses. This class can be quite challenging since there is only one test and two major projects in the class. If you fail the test, you will automatically get a C.

I would NOT recommend this professor. He's having a mid-life crisis, and is always wearing beach shirts. Besides that, he gets off on long tangents that take up the entire class time, and has to constantly remove material from tests because he never got to it. And 8/10 times I'd look at the test and wonder if we ever even learned any of it at all.

You will find yourself in class listening in on discussions ranging from baseball to the Olympics. He is a very smart guy don't get me wrong but it is almost impossible for him to keep a students attention. Halfway through the class a third of the people are asleep or have left the class. Is not willing to help. Easy if you read the book

OK I honestly don't know why so many people disliked him..he made passing sooo easy! I got an A because he was lenient with grading. The only thing you have to do is pay attention to the notes and the things he say and you'll be fine. It was boring and he gets off topic ALOT.. and he thinks he's funny. But he wasn't hard I promise just go to class

You can tell he's passionate about weather and climate, but he's totally out of it. The lectures don't match the test. His tests are super hard, & i soon learned too just write down the random things he says b/c thats what's on the test. GO TO CLASS. You need all the participation points you can get. Lab are easy though and thats a huge percentage.
