Mr Schafer was one of my first teachers out of high school and he lived up to every expectation I had of a college professor. He has high expectations that students will work hard and be on time for class. His sense of humor takes a bit to get used to, but he is great, made me interested in Biology and helps students get an A if they work hard

Great class. You might like him or dislike him at times but he is a great knowledge facilitator. Although he might be rude at times, he notices your efforts and trains you to become or think like a scientist.

I loved Mr. Schaffer!! He can be harsh and his class is by no means easy, but he likes hard-working students. He was very passionate about Microbiology and that made the class fun. Have a sense of humor, don't do anything stupid, don't be late and he'll like you just fine!! :)

I think it is funny when he roles his eyes at you like a little kid. He says "well, you know" alot and walks around like T-Rex with his arms up. We had so much fun with Shaffer impressions!

He needs to realize that not everyone is as perfect as he seems to think he is. My suggestion is to find a different instructor and save yourself the humiliation and frustration of trying to live up to his expectations.
