Very strict on grammar. Dont have to write nearly as much as the other classes. Lecture one day, next day is a 15 min conference to go over your paper, no class the third day (most of the time)

If you want to be treated like you are in basic training, broken promises, quizzed daily, put down and fail or come close to failing, take the class. If you want something else get another professor. Only likes to answer questions from the gifted, otherwise yells.

This professor is horrible- DO NOT take a class with him! Nothin but a snooze fest. He reads directly from notecards that look like they're about 20 years old and the quizes have nothing to do with the meaning of the readings, but instead stupid details that are impossible to remember though he insists he's encouraging close reading. Horrible.

I didn't like this professor at all. Every week you have an essay due and if you make one gramatical error in the essay, the grade of your essay goes down an ENTIRE letter grade. That is a little ridiculous! DO NOT take a class with this professor if you can help it. I was a freshman and got put in his class. Good luck!

Classes are sooo easy. He calls on people in alpha order and asks ridiculously easy things about grammar and stuff, and he explains the essays really well. After September, class only meets once a week and you have meetings with him. It was at the meetings that I really gained respect for him because he's really nice and smart. Final is easy as pie

This was a really hard class! His quizzes were impossible; most people did badly even though they were OPEN BOOK! However, Prof. Baldwin is a very nice man, and he really does care about his students. He even gives out his home number on his syllabus so students can call he WHENEVER they need help!

despite some frustrations over extra credit problems, this man is hilarious and intelligent. his quizzes and tests are extremely hard because most of us aren't accustomed to close readings of works. don't take him if you have a fear of tests, but if you're looking for a man of humor and character, take his class.

Good class if you want to learn about authors, but don't expect to learn much about the works at hand. His quiz questions involve the most miniscule details from the stories and can be impossible. He shouts for no reason, so if you have to take him don't do it in the morning. I didnt like it but you can definetly tell he loves what hes teaching.

Avoid like the plague! I can honestly say he was the worst prof. I've ever had. He just drones for 50min from the same notes he's used since he began teaching. He doesn't care about his students or want any interaction with them. He chooses only the most boring stories, even when a particular author has many other great works. He should retire.

This guy is horrible. Spends more days just going over the life of the author of the book you are reading then he does explaining the book itself. Expects all his sudents to be English majors. He is horrible, never take his classes!

This should not have been a hard class, but it was! Avoid this teacher if you are taking more than one class per semester. You learned a lot, but at the expense of your GPA. Quizes were impossible. Papers were hard.
