Very good at the subject matter, and all you have to do is show up and try and you will pass as long as you try, class was actually pretty fun, forces you to get to know one another which actually pays off in the end. Great teacher.

Barely used Blackboard for anything. Treated an 8-wk hybrid course like it was a 1-nite-a-week regular class. Didn't explain herself well and didn't like to clarify. Also, Week 1 she wanted something submitted to Blackboard two days into the course. I was in hospital and had to show her my discharge papers to prove why I couldn't turn it in.

I would recommend Professor Blackmon to anyone who is afraid of speaking publicly. She has a way of calming your fears. Very approachable and willing to help, all you have to do is ask.

This class wasn't too bad. You will spend A LOT of time on the speeches, writing them & presenting them. She doesnt like to answer questions. Not too clear on what she wants. ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY, only way out of it is with a serious doctors note.

People who disliked her failed because they were inadequate. Dont hate just cause you couldnt rise to her standards! She doesnt ask much of you, just FOLLOW HER DIRECTIONS and you will be fine. FAKE YOUR CONFIDENCE if you dont have it. All it takes is pretending you're the s*it when presenting a speech. U can pass her tests with common sense.

Prof. J Blackmon is wonderful. She is very helpful and very loving. Her main concern is that you learn how to speak well in front of an audience. She gives you a lot of useful info. to take into the world. I would recommend her to anyone who needs this class. If you do your best an "A" is very possible. She is a GREAT TEACHER. FYI SHE DON'T BITE!!

This has to be absolutely the worst professor. She is very unclear in her assignments and her grading is even worse. Very short when you ask about your work when you need help. This is a reading technique class and I have learned nothing!

Definately makes you a better public speaker, but if you are going to take this class be sure not to miss a single one. Pay attention and you will do well. She is not the most helpful if you are lost so be sure to get a good student's number instead if you have any questions. Overall the class was interesting.

Oh dear what can I say about her? She is not nice!! If you ask her a question (most likely about something that she didn't explain clearly or something you're just simply curious about), she is going to look at you like you're some kind of a dumb, low life form. If you want to waste money, take this class.

I don't know why people say she is hard or mean. She was nice and I stuided only about ten min. for each of the tests and made a B. The only thing that sucked was she records one of your speechs and you have to anlazye it. Don't listen to these people she is a good teacher, but you have to do your work.

Professor Blackmon was a little difficult but she was able to helpe me out. One of my speeches was too short which usually is an automatic "F" she helped me out and Luckily i ended up passing. She never embarassed me and just told me to relax. I thought she was a very nice lady

Professor Blackmon's class was a unique experience. She is nice and passionate about what she does. Some of the speeches and exercises are silly and embarassing, but if you don't let it get to you, you'll be fine. Be prepared to stand up and speak on the first day
