I'm glad that I'm not the only person that noticed the "favoritism" I had a similar experience in my class. Your participation in class WILL effect your grade so make sure you make an effort to share your thoughts, opinions or at least ask questions. Class was a little dry, however, It is writing 122 a basic entry level class.

Kate Evans has her heart in the right place and knows her stuff, but classes are a bore. Even as a person interested in writing, her method of presentation is boring, and class seems useless, since all you do is cover what you read the night before. That being said, she will give good criticism and honest constructive criticism.

wr 227 Kate is a great lady but man does she grade hard. don't hand stuff in late or it will cost ya. Also she likes to yell works out. especially when she is talking about the text or reading. its load!

She is a great teacher had her for Wr 122 and Eng 105 she is very easy to understand and is avaliable for help when you need it. At the beginning of the term she is usually harder to weed out people but eases up some later into the term.

She is a hard grader. Very picky on spelling and grammar errors. She allocates a lot of time to very simple things. Spent three days on one four page play. Chooses a few favorites and they do all the talking. She repeats the things she says a lot. Also says tests are based on plot and reading which is not true.

She employed a slight weeding-out process for the first few weeks with really harsh grading. After then though her grading became more realistic and her class more enjoyable. She is a very experienced teacher who tries to enjoy her students for who they are..

I took Ms. Evans in Spring 2005 which turned out to not be a joyful experiance. We spent the whole term working on writing one paper which is typical for the class but what we did in class had no effect towards our paper. We spent class time going over middle school/elementry writing basics which everyone already knew. No real gain from taking her

Ms. Evans is a great teacher. She does a lot of small group activities and sharing with the class, which promotes for a comfortable learning experience. I found her very understanding, friendly and nice. She is organized and really nice. I liked her!
