I can't say anything bad about him as a person, however he is a TOUGH grader. He is super passionate about what he teaches and wants you to become an exceptional writer with a lot of articles and books to read. So if you are not a strong writer, I would consider taking someone else. Super sweet, genuine man though!

Professor Jones is such a passionate and interesting teacher. He is very good at facilitating discussions about the material and he makes it pretty interesting. The only complaint I have is that he grades papers REALLY difficultly. You can put all of your effort into his papers, but not get a good grade on it. The class material is interesting!

Dr. Jones is one of the most knowledgeable and caring history professors around. He knows his stuff and is more than willing to help students succeed. There is a lot of reading associated with this class but most of it is relevant and interesting. Different prompts have different due dates so you can work around your schedule which is a huge plus.

Get ready to work like none other to get an A but if you get it or an AB you deserve it 100%. He is a great prof and explains things extremely well in general and even better if you ask for clarification. There is plenty of material to read for class but class is always enjoyable and you learn countless valuable lessons in history and for life.

One of the best profs I have ever had. Not easy to get an A, but it's definitely possible if you work hard enough. Expect a lot of reading but most of it is extremely interesting. Jones is a genius and he's able to lay out the material in a way that's easy to understand. He's always ready to help and one of the nicest profs I've met.

I have had professor Jones for a couple of different classes, and i have never been disappointed. He may be a tough grader, but it will only make you a better student in the long run. This man is a genius when it comes to American history, and I would recommend that everyone take one of his classes at least once while you are at CSB/SJU

Prof Jones is a great professor, but definitely not one to take if you want an easy A. He will prepare you for future courses, not just in History, but in other fields as well. Absolutely the best history professor at CSB/SJU hands down. Dr. Jones is a genious. He will make you work hard, but you can learn so much from him. Expect: readings, to write discussion papers every few class periods, intense structured debates, and 3-4 longer papers. He makes you work for your grade, but you won't ever regret taking his course.

Good prof., definitely wants you to think on your own and understand the material from all viewpoints. No really long lectures, just all class discussion. No exams, papers only. Extremely difficult grader on papers, but if you go and talk to him and show effort, he will appreciate that. Definitely take Mr. Jones, but not an easy A.
