She talks a lot and goes off topic almost the entire class session. She loses track of time and teaches one small concept and goes on for an hour about examples and tangents that are completely useless. There are exams on every religion we learn but its difficult to grasp each subject or idea because she goes on forever about irrelevant things.

She's not clear on what she expects from you. If you HAVE to take her just remember to be as detailed as possible when taking the tests, literally don't leave anything out. There is no homework so you only know if you're doing poorly based on the tests, so by the time you get the second one back you've wasted half a semester. READ THE TEXTBOOK!!

i am an okay student. if u read what she tells you to then you will pass with an A. It's not hard to understand and she goes over them a bunch. Her tests are exactly what she mentions in class, and she even gives out 8 questions to practice, then using 2 for the actual tests. she does go off topic though so it will get a bit boring time to time.

Rather than informing and educating her students, she makes them jump through hoops for a decent grade. She'll play games like knock 10 points off of your essay exam for not mentioning a specific philosopher when she never stated that it was necessary. She even failed one of my classmates for using the bathroom right before the exam started.

She spends all class time lecturing and goes off topic too often and for too long. She is unorganized and incompetent in her teaching skills. Grade is based on 3 midterms, final, journals, and participation. One of the midterms can be dropped. I dont advise taking her!

She is a terrible professor! She doesn't teach at all, she's very close minded and doesn't like to hear other people's opinions. She just talks the whole class about personal stories about OTHER students. If you take this class prepare to teach yourself.

Dr. Gupta is one of the best astounding professor I have taken. She made my first philosophy class experience unforgettable. I left her class everyday with new knowledge I could apply to in my life. She challenges her students for preparation to universities and gives amazing advise. People who write bad comments is due to not putting effort.

She is one of the best professors you can ever have in your entire life. Her class is fun and she has a very distinctive smoothing voice which will relax you in the class. Her material for the exam is pretty straightforward and she goes over the text over and over again to make sure everyone comprehends all of them completely. She is a very fair gr

Worst professor I've taken in all my semesters at GCC. I'm a philosophy major and for an entire semester she managed to make me hate a subject that I love. Don't take this course. Grade is based on 3 midterms, one of which is dropped, a final, and a group project. Professor Gupta is extremely unorganized, repetitive, and lacks teaching skills.

Nice Lady. However she is a very tough grader. If you want an easy class do not take this class. I'm taking her right now and I regret not dropping it. If you are a lazy student like me then this class is not for you. You will have to teach yourself in this class because it's hard to understand her. She does not explain information well.

Worst professor I've ever had in my life! She is so rude and she doesn't accept any opinions from students. I got an F in her class and I have no idea how that happened since I tried hard to do good in her class, but it just wasn't possible.

Wouldn't recommend taking this professor especially if you're not into reading at all, or won't take the time to really understand every piece taught in class. She expects a lot from her students, and although she does give a 4 question study guide, its hardly helpful. Not an easy class whatsoever, especially the way she teaches it

Prof Gupta expects a lot from her students, as she should. Philosophy is a challenging, complex subject and she expects concise language in midterm essays and a thorough understanding of each theory. An A is achievable if you work hard, do the readings and study. A tip: utilize her office hours for any questions you may have.

Took Phil101 with her and my is she a tough grader. You must write an essay for all of her midterms and you don't know what kind of question you are going to get. It's very difficult to know every theory in detail, because that's just how she wants it. Lectures are ok at best. You gotta have photographic memory to get an A on the tests.

She's not very good at teaching philosophy because all she does is to preach philosophy to her students. We don't need her to keep talking and talking because that's not philosophy. I think she believes herself to be some good philosopher or educator but she's not. Very dry teaching and makes philosophy very boring. Her SI leader is much better.

Good professor for independent students (i.e., university students) but not a very good professor for dependent students (i.e., high school students). Her lectures are boring and dry but this college people. She's not your mother but your teacher. Read, Study, participate in class and you'll pass the class.

Prof. Gupta is a good woman with a kind heart and I appreciate her. Her class can get boring but over all what you learn in her class is priceless. She is just a low energy person but philosophy is a subject that is best taught by a high energy person. Her teaching can be boring but it's worthy of learning for it's important knowledge.

Dr. Gupta is probably one of the best educators at GCC but she's not very entertaining and that lack of entertainment turns me off to her. Other philosophy teachers seem to love philosophy, teaching and teaching philosophy but Dr. Gupta seems to just like education. That is, she's not very interested in teaching philosophy. Overall she is good.
