I looked forward to class with Louis for a long time. I had met him at lectures and other campus events and tried to take him for Macro, but my schedule didn't allow it. I finally took a tier 3 with him. It was fantastic. I appreciated his acceptance of the political complexity of economic policy. Too many professors gloss over reality.

Louis is a brilliant economist and lovable professor. The intro class I took with him was really easy, partially because he taught well, partially because he didn't really push us as students.

I only had him for FYS, but he is a brilliant man. He can take information from anywhere and make it useful! He tells things to us straight and is just an awesome man! If I ever have to take Econ it will be with him! If you have him, you are very, very lucky!

The best prof you can take for Econ 111! He is very nice and clear on what he talks about. He is a very understanding teacher and will allows you to turn in your assignment late for full credit. He makes sure you understand the topic and makes the class fun and not boring. I did not regret taking him at all!

Greatest professor at SJU?!?!? He's in the running. Breaks down the hard ideas to stuff that is super easy, and you still learn it. Works with you through the homework in class. Relates the class to our real economy in today's world. I strongly advise taking him if you get the chance.

Finally, a professor as busy as the students! He takes forever to grade things and has slept through a morning class. Louis is brilliant, understanding, knows the material and makes sure you learn it. That said, you do not work hard in his class and sometimes it's frustrating how slow things go. He could push students further, but doesn't.

Louis is purely brilliant. I've had him for macro, growth, and my senior thesis and it has been great. Probably the best prof in the econ dept. here at SJU-CSB!

Even though he takes forever to grade assignments and tests, he's a pretty easy grader and makes an effort to make sure that his students understands the material. He also cancelled class occasionally. The tests and quizzes aren't that hard at all, no real big surprises.

Probably one of the best professors i have had in college. His only drawback is it takes him forever to grade exams. This isn't that bad because if he doesn't have you exams graded h assigns no homework. Another great thing about this class is the material is what he does his research on so he knows his stuff and it is very interesting.

Very good teacher. You can tell that he cares about his students. Assigments aren't very difficult, exams and quizzes aren't easy, but they're aren't any suprises. Class is cancelled occasionally, and usually class was let out a little early. I would definitely recommend Johnston.
