If the tests in his class were on what he did in his life, I would have got an A. Instead it was really complicated assembly language, some kids had taken that class 3 times already b/c of him, they were the ones who the rest of us were learning from for awhile. He was no help, egotistical and probably the worst teacher I've had there in 4.5 years.

All of the projects come from the book used, he tries to teach when most students are doing the labs so the information isn't heard, doesn't teach whats on the test until the class before. gave outdated assignments. do NOT recommend him.

Very Boring, I mean very very boring. Talks about computer science for 10 mins, then goes on and on. He can talk about his whole life. But some of his stuff will make you laugh and pay attention. He will give you like 5 programs the last 3 weeks of the course. He gives 2 test plus a final, they are pretty hard, so read the book!

GET OUT OF HIS CLASS.I got an A,but would NEVER take his class again.Refuses to help you on asgnmts.Talks about random things that have no relevance to the class.If you get stuck with him, just do the asgnmts & extra credit, dont bother taking notes, just pay attention to test reviews and youll pass.I just dont understand how he became a teacher.

nice guy...but boring as hell..im taking intro to comp..he spends half the class talking about his coin collection...then writes notes for 10 min...and then we have lab the rest of class...and usually we are all finished by then.. so my advice, if u want to learn something..dont take him...but if u want to nap..this class is perfect!

I agree with the Student who took CS17. He's a very learned man who works hard for his determined students. He isn't an easy teacher by any means, but if you have a real ambition to pursue a Computer Science career, he'll be a good influence on you. You won't be handed an A, you'll have to work for it.

He requires you to work hard, but he's a very honest professor that tries to look out for his studnets. Boring Perhaps, but he offers a vivid and timely knowlege base in the history of computer science. If you resist learning, he's not going to spoon feed you. Either you work hard or fail. This is College, not Middle School.

Sad to say but i think retirement is calling his name.We spent half the class listening to the same stories over and over, he even tought the same lesson 3 times without realizing it.Unclear and dosent teach the topic matter, ask for help and he might snap. Wouldent recomend his class.

You keep on taking notes and listening to stories and taking notes and listening to stories. By the time you realize your drowning it's to late because you are clueless as to how well you are doing until after the first test in mid - semester !! But you do leave the class knowing his life story.
