She lectures the entire class and gets off topic the whole time, she is very passionate about american government indeed but not good at teaching it. I taught myself the whole semester by the notes that you have to purchase for the class. Her exams aren't too hard (as long as you study) but not easy either. I would not take her again.

Great class. Most of your grade will revolve around exams, a term paper and a small group presentation. No homework. Use her office hours if you are confused on a subject or the term paper. Go to class because the incentive points makes a huge difference. Didn't use the textbook at all, but nice to refer to. Really easy to pass!

She's a good professor. She gets side tracked but that can be nice in the middle of a lecture. All you have to do to get extra credit (she calls it incentive points) is show up to every class. And her class goes by really fast

Nice lady but boring and scatter brained, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about government. As long as you have the lecture notes, come to class and study the tests are a breeze, but you really have to study. A paper and group project aren't that bad

I had her for American Federal&State and Local Government. I went off the recommendations here and it was the worst thing i could have ever done. she is very bias and a huge Democrat. Which is fine by me, but she talks bad about everything else, forces her beliefs on you, and only explains one side of government. Would not recommend, unfair grading

I really enjoyed Dr. Washington's class. Her tests are extremely easy and she basically gives you the answers. Lots of extra credit as well and no book required to pass at all.

Her class is basically a lecture. She speaks very fast and tends to back track her information. If you're not a good note taker then most of the information will not be retained. All the test are literally off the lecture outlines, which are also hard to understand if you didn't follow the class lecture. She very attentive to participation.

Pretty good professor. Very knowledgeable. Does a great job in explain the different sections of politics. Grades are test heavy, but the test aren't bad if you study. Is willing to help you with projects and papers. Post grades quickly.

This professor expects you off the back to not fall behind. Also, there are tons and tons of vocab to memorize. If you memorize ALL of the vocab you can do good on the tests. I averaged off of high B's and high C's, but messes up on my research paper and i ended up getting a D in her course even though i worked hard and studied. I do not recommend

I was Absent for a couple of classes because I got really sick. She took 12 points off of one of my tests making it go from an 84 to a 72. When I asked her why she did it she said "Come to class". Almost positive she has manipulated some of my tests to keep me at a 79 and she he does not round.

Liberal that is 2 1/2 yrs from retirement & talks fast. EXTREMELY into government so she heavily expects you to study. 4 tests(3 @150 pts, 1 at 200pts), term paper (200pts), & oral report(50pts). Study guide posted for the tests. Nearly 80 extra credit pts overall available. I didn't even open my book, I just got it for the extra credit.

Talks way too quickly and strays off topic a lot. Could not explain why I received the grade that I did on the term paper and simply said "I can't explain it but it does not deserve more than that grade." Took off earned extra credit points to make my friend "work harder for an A." Took off points for absence even though it was a family emergency.

I am someone who has never taken an interest in GOV, but with Dr. Washington I am even considering a career in this subject. She is very knowledgeable in the subject and knows it well. The subject is hard, but with her study guides and lecture outline, it makes an A very possible. I aced all the tests. Best Gov. teacher.

I really enjoyed Prof. Washington's class. I learned a lot about federal gov't & different cases the court handled. She gave extra credit chances, 1 mid-term paper, 4 exams. You do have to buy the book & lecture outline. She does post enhanced exam study guides several days before exams to study from with answers on BB under course doc., take her!
