Comment:

Dr. Bressler is a nice professor, but I am not sure what he is looking for on exams. He spends a lot of time reviewing the course syllabus in class. Grades are based only on 4 exams. I think there could be a better way to connect the work for class to the real world, other than reading and studying for the exams, which are all essay based.

Comment:

Dr. Bressler is definitely in my top 3 favorite professors at Furman. The lectures are packed full of information and readings, however, he always has powerpoints and goes over the readings you will be tested on. All exams are essay style, no electronics in class so print out readings. Overall a great professor makes lots of dad jokes but so funny.

Dr. Bressler is a knowledgeable and well liked man around the Poli Sci department and Furman's campus. That being said, he is a hard grader and makes you work hard for every grade. He expects a lot from his students and if you're willing to put forth the work, it's a fulfilling class.

He defiantly is one of the toughest graders at Furman. However, he is more than willing to help you and work with you to get the grade you want. He is one of the most helpful and best professors I have had here.

I took him for intro to world politics. He is a great teacher and a nice guy but he grades difficult. out grade was made up of 3 test grades, participation and a final. I would recommend taking his class if you don't mind doing the reading and can apply it.

Very smart guy but hard class. You must read and take notes, but this class is definitely an A if you pay attention and take decent notes. You must be concise on his essays, but there is not much work just a good amount of reading. Interesting guy, he is fluent in Russian and has a lot of knowledge on a wide array of subjects. Great professor

Professors like Dr. Bressler are the reason i chose a smaller school like Furman. He knew all of our names and personalities within a few weeks of the year and he was extremely down to earth with us. He only gives us a few tests a year but he tells you exactly what will be on them. Doing the reading is vital and it is what gives someone an A over B

Extremely knowledgable. You learn so much in his class. He is an incredibly hard grader though, being a good writer is not enough, you also have to really know the material. Sometimes he can get annoyed for no apparent reason. All that being said, you will learn more in his class than any other you take, most likely.

The class was informative and entertaining. It's easy to tell that Dr. Bressler cares a great deal about his students. He's a hard but fair grader. Though political science is not one of my favorite subjects, I don't regret taking Dr. Bressler's class. The information he presented has made me better able to understand how our world works.

Dr. Bressler was a decent teacher for World Politics. He gave great lectures and knew his stuff, but also seemed to get annoyed for no reason sometimes. Also, he only grades by essay tests and he is a difficult grader. He was average for a Furman political science teacher, but that's a complement because the department is great.

Amazing professor and funny. Reason why I became a major. Obviously loves his work and is one of the smartest professors around. You cannot BS this class-it's his specialty! One of the most rewarding and interesting classes at furman. DO NOT take this class unless you're willing to put in the work!

Incredibly smart man. Class discussions were always engrossing, informative, and enjoyable. Stickler for assignment details. Tests may contain anything on the syllabus, even readings not covered in class, so prepare well. An understanding of theory is a must, so pay attention. This was the most informative class I've taken at Furman.

Bressler is the man. Class is interesting, readings a little boring but not too bad. Does a good job at relating everything to modern world. Fair grader and great guy to sit down and talk to. Simulation is fun as well. Take if you can.

Dr. Bressler is very clear in his teachings, open to questions, and is not boring. As a result of taking his class, I have made him my advisor. Reading not horrible. 2 tests- with 2 essays each, which can be a little frantic, but just manage your time well. 2 papers, not that hard. Simulation is fun. Would definitely recommend

Dr. Bressler is not overly easy, but is extremely helpful and has an absolutely amazing wealth of knowledge. I'd definitely reccomend him, especially if you can write essays because that's all his tests are.
