English/Literature teachers sure can be hits or misses, but Professor Sager is a definite hit. He's truly passionate about what he teaches so it's not like he's ever. The tests are open book and open note so if you manage to fail, then what are you even doing?

Dr. Sager will most likely retire within a year due to health problems, but he is very enjoyable for upper level courses. His Freshman classes force him to babysit immature punks right out of high school, but his upper level classes provide more interest and passion from him. His wit is a bit dry sometimes, but he is really a great professor.

Comment:
The thing you have to get past with Sager is his monotone. He usually throws all sorts of witticisms and dry remarks in with his lectures that you're wont to miss if you get hypnotized by his drawl and nod off. The way he lectures makes it a little difficult to prepare for the tests if you don't have good note-taking skills, but fortunately, he grades rather leniently and it often seems like you have to know a LOT more than you really do to pass.

Dr. Sager is a VERY good teacher. I found that his upper level classes are generally more fun than his lower level classes...he seems to enjoy himself more when he's teaching upper level classes.
