Overall terrible professor. How does Temple U. expect us to pay the inflated tuition costs it charges and end up taking a horrible course with an uptight teacher like this one. Definitely not recommended. Very tough grader. Useless in-class projects.

Prof. Moore-Martinez is the head of the Spanish Department at Temple University, however, she is one of the most approachable professors I have had the pleasure to take a class with.

She is so understanding and will push back deadlines if you have a valid excuse. Her Eating Cultures course is so interesting and the material is enjoyable. There is hardly work outside of class and if there is it is more creative and fun. All the readings are posted and you can just skim them before you come to class.

Super nice lady, one of the best I've had. We did have a few papers and a final volunteer project we had to do, but the class was really enjoyable. There were easy group quizzes and discussions. For our first paper she gave everyone a bad grade, but that was so we could try harder; she graded really easy afterwards. TAKE HER

PMM is my girl, i love her so much. She is so sweet and caring and is there for you in any need. Eating cultures is super interesting and the book is like $10. There are a lot of readings and a few small papers but no tests or quizzes. You look at foods all around the world and even get to have 6 food banquets throughout the semester.

I took eating cultures with her and she was amazing. She gave almost no quizzes or tests, unless the class wasn't prepared and didn't do their homework. There is a lot of class participation and interaction. She is there for you if you need help and lenient overall. I learned a lot with her.

OMG literally the most beautiful and amazing professor ever. Definitely a Temple University gem. She is SO helpful and really wants you to do well. If you take her, you need to attend all classes. Her in class lessons are just too valuable to miss because she teaches to the class and not to a standard book... so sometimes she will go on GREAT rants

This woman makes learning Spanish so easy. You'll be amazed at how much you can understand when she talks 100% in Spanish, and she's the most helpful professor ever. She really cares about her students and wants them to learn. Also one of the nicest and most enthusiastic professors I've had at Temple. Take her class and you'll learn a lot.

Not the teacher for me. Sure enough, she's very nice in class, but, often comes off very rude/mean in personal conversation. She teaches the class like it's high-school curriculum with very, very little insight outside of the books. Had trouble not going crazy with the Professor and her seemingly lackadaisical approach to students, in general

She is so friendly and sticks mostly to the syllabus; if not, she tells you in advanced so you are never pressed for time to write compositions or study (which is not that necessary because her tests and quizzes are easy). She is not intimidating at all and creates a comfortable environment for students to learn and speak spanish.

She is so energetic and funny. Tries hard to make sure we are engaged and also asks frequently if everyone is with her. Was more lenient with students then I expected. Overall excellent and listening to her you can tell she loves Spanish.

Comment:

Professor Moore-Martinez is really memorable. It's like being in Elementary School all over again. Class was extremely easy, she is a really light grader on essays but quizzes/exams were much more time consuming (not hard or easy). I'd strongly recommend her for a less-then-stellar class.

(IH2) Varies her methods of teaching to keep things interesting. Very Approachable. Work is demanding- her tests and quizzes were hard, however her essays were not. She allows you a lot of freedom in writing essays, but the tests were very extensive. Overall, a really good person and a teacher, but you can't slack.
