Comment:

Great professor! He does go through the ppts pretty fast, but is always wiling to stop and explain something again if you're confused. A lot of the test questions come from the online quizzes, so if you do those and review the ppts, you should be fine on the test. Pop quizzes are for extra credit and can get you up to 5% bonus on the final grade.

Comment:

Very sweet and caring guy! He's very approachable and tries his best to answer any student's question. You have to read the book to do well on his tests which is time consuming but basically guarantees A's on every test. Pop quizzes can add up to 5% to your grade. He makes the class really enjoyable and worthwhile.

Such a sweetheart! He really loves to teach and he loves when you ask questions! Go to his office hours, READ all the chapters required, and do the online assignments. HEAVY reading!

Comment:

Many of the test questions came from the suggested practice quizzes, so if you do those and read through the PowerPoints you will be fine even if you don't read the textbook. Nice and genuine professor that wants you to succeed. Attendance is taken occasionally as well as occasional quizzes, but attendance is not mandatory, don't be late to class.

Comment:

It was definitely a "weed-out" class, overly difficult for Bio 1, and tests on a lot of information. Get ready to study THOROUGHLY! Read all the slides and the chapters before the lecture and do all of the quizzes that are available to you! I'm not sure whether going to class would be worth it if it weren't for the extra credit pop quizzes.

gets distracted easily during lectures, no point in going. a ridiculous amount of information is expected for u to know for each test. a lot of the tests are from mastering bio questions, but only studying mastering bio will get you maybe a 60 on each test. not the best professor but definitely not the worst.

This was the only class I've ever had to drop. He goes over a ton of difficult material fast. He only gives 4 tests and a couple of extra credit quizzes randomly. If you don't read the long, boring chapters, you won't pass. I studied all the things he told us to for the first exam and failed it. He talks 100 mph and doesn't stop until end of class.

Decent teacher. Very manageable class. 4 tests-non cumulative final. 5 5pt extra credit quizzes are randomly given throughout the semester and he half weights your lowest test grade too. No hwk but a lot of questions are straight off of mastering bio and make sure you read the textbook thoroughly at least once before the test.

The class is very easy as long as you study. The key to getting an A in the class is by reading the textbook (several times) and doing/memorizing the mastering bio questions. Don't even bother going to class because he just reads directly off the powerpoint.

this was the first time human phys was offered so there wasn't really any warnings. not that he's a bad professor but he talks fast and has powerpoints with 100+ slides on them. the first test is easiest since it's on stuff we should already know but for the next tests, start looking over the ppts a week before so you get 5's on the bonus quizzes

Had him for human physiology. There's so much information and he talks way to fast. Its very difficult to understand him. Def do the online quizzes but other wise you have to read and teach yourself because there's no homework. I wouldn't retake the class if I had to do again, however, it would be good if the material was familiar to you.

He's a great guy, but what other students said about his tests used to be easy, repetitive and from the online quizzes is not an option anymore. I think he realized his tests used to be easy and decided to change everything this semester. Gives 4 extra credit quizzes and took attendance 4 times for extra credit. Memorize the ppt's and read the book

To get an A you should go to class, because he gives information that isn't on the powerpoints. He speaks too fast sometimes though. Read the book, it makes the slides more understandable , plus there's info in there that he tests that isn't on the slides. Do the online quizzes because those questions will definitely appear on the test.

Dr. Trombley talks super fast and doesn't dumb down complicated topics enough for my tastes. Read the textbook, take notes, read the slides, take notes, reread the textbook, and THEN you'll be ready for his lectures.

Super easy class as long as you're prepared. Going to class doesn't do much for you because he just reads off of his slides and often gets distracted on tangents. Tests are mostly taken from Mastering Biology so make sure you do that! He is very nice and helpful, and givevs extra credit for random attendance checks

I have no interest in biology but it is required for my major. This class is not super difficult but not easy. Professor does not care about attendance but gives an extra credit quiz the day before the exam so I would attend. He reads write off the powerpoints. Study masteringbio and read the chapters and you're guaranteed an B maybe an A.

He's a wonderful professor, definitely the best for Baby Bio. He knows what it takes for people to learn, and ensures that he does that. Definitely very helpful and not only did I do well, but I learned too.
