For the Majors: Pete will annoy you, but if you involve yourself with him you'll be happy when it comes time to get a job. He does Geophysics as a hobby. All of the projects I did with him (some for pay) made me look like a stone cold professional when it came time to write a resume. Just about everyone who worked with him has a job in the field.

Pleasant and friendly person, but not impressed with him as a teacher. Gave zero feedback on any coursework. Had three or four written assignments make up our total grade but never had one returned or graded so we never knew if we were approaching the assignments correctly or if our understanding was adequate. Rarely returned emails

His tests are extremely hard and are mostly a random mix of info that you don't cover in class. Most of my class is failing and the highest test scores are around 70.If you ask him a question or for clarification, he sometimes just brushes you off.This class is not an easy A...seek elsewhere. But if you show interest in geo, he will help you out.

his tests are extremely hard. he scaled everyone in the class so much and people still only got a in the 60's or 70's. my whole class is failing. but he does care and will scale even though he tells you at the beggining of the class he wont. I wouldnt take him again. Also, hes psycho and flips out randomly for no reason.

Very funny guy. Makes sure to connect with each and every student in his class. Tests were easy, based off of lectures. Holds the attention of students well. Understanding. Great professor, highly recommend.

a greatttt teacher who really knows his stuff... but also makes the class fun and interresting, he really helps you and tries to make sure you do well and the labs are EXTREMELY easy.... tests are kinda easy but kinda long and have to cover a lot of material... but he does give study sheets.

Sablock is AWESOME! I almost became a geology major because he is such a fabulous teacher. He's funny, helpful, and really wants everybody to get a good grade. (The final was really hard though). If you have to take geology, take it with him.
