Comment:

Professor Kimelman is, hands down, the best professor at Brandeis. I've taken several of his classes. His big secret is that despite his best attempts at being intimidating, he's actually quite nice and very funny. Plenty of terrible puns. Be prepared to work very hard - you definitely earn your grade!

He's amazing. He's a very good teacher but he moves fast and if you don't follow, he gets cranky. He's at his best when talking about the Bible, and if you can get a Bible class with him then you definitely should! He can be moody old man but he's adorable. I think he just really needs a hug!

Kimelman's class is not for the faint-hearted. He expects excellence, and gets cranky when he doesn't get it. I found him extremely intimidating at first. But Kimelman can also be quite funny, and he's not nearly as scary as he seems. He's fantastic, and if you want a challenge, take one of his classes.

I was intimidated in those days because of his brilliance and he is "hot". But the secret is that he is a teddy bear inside and he loves and believes in his carefully selected texts, topics, and methodology.

Kimelman builds character. You'll learn everything you need to succeed in college from about a week in this guy's class. Yeah, he's probably going to make you cry at some point, but he's brilliant and pretty hilarious from time to time. Hang in there; it's worth it.

Prof Kimelman is a brilliant, but very tough guy. He intimidates the hell out of his students and makes fun of them if they try to ask questions. If you can't commit to spending hours preparing for each class session, don't take the class!! I'll never set foot in a room with him again, but I don't regret the experience-- once.

This guy actually pushed some of the other students to tears he can be so scary. He teaches using the socratic method so if you try to B-S in class, he'll totally call you on it. Tears aside, I thought the guy was AWESOME. I'm not jewish, but if youre interested at all in theology take a class with him. He's a charecter, if a bit old school.

If you can get over the INTENSE intimidation of this man, you may learn somthing. However, he is somewhat set in his opinions and is not alway responsive to student ideas. I'd avoid him.
