I cant even think of anything good about his class. His power points have little to no actual study material in them., his lecture material is ridiculously out of touch and outdated, and there are only 4 tests with no chances for extra credit. His monotone voice makes for incredibly boring lectures. Id think twice before taking his class.

Professor Kalwinsky is a really nice man, but it's very hard to retain the information that he gives you. There are very few grades, so if you do bad on one of them it basically decides what your grade is going to be. A lot of the material on the exams is on information that is not in his powerpoints. Would recommend taking a different professor.

Comment:
Entire grade is based off four tests taken on D2L outside of class, and the lowest grade is dropped, so the class is stupid easy. Problem is while his lectures are bizarre, Kalwinsky is extremely boring, and most of his information is out of date, hilariously out of touch, or just plain wrong. Attendance contributes to overall grade.

Gives long drawn out lectures with poor student engagement and provides inaccurate information in his lectures frequently. Seems to be a bit of a conspiracy theorist and poorly tries to incorporate political and socioeconomic issues into presentations. Makes PowerPoints and study guides that do not always line up with the things he says in class.

I would never take this dudes class ever again. His PowerPoints consist of no information helpful to you for test. Even his study guides are awful. The PowerPoints are extremely disorganized and even when taking notes you still wont get the answers needed right on the online test. I could write a whole paper on how this dude isn't the one to take.

Large class, so no connection to students. Difficult to hear when the mic isn't working, and poor lecture set up. VERY lecture dependent tests, if you don't take notes you're probably not going to pass. Try to listen since he says some things not included in the PowerPoints. 45-50 minute out of class online tests for 50-60 questions, quizlet helps

Do not take this class with this professor. There are over 300 people in my class and all it consists of is the lecture. I am a good student but currently am failing the class because 1. it's so disorganized, not structured, and all over the place with material 2. he allows NO retakes and offers NO extra credit, even for excused absences.

Prof. Kalwinsky gave a lot of online quizzes and all the tests were also online. The quizzes were submitted weekly and added up to a test grade. He drops the lowest grade. He randomly takes attendance but usually announces it the day before.

MONOTONE. Could not pay attention to his lectures, yet most of the material on tests doesn't even come from lecture.

Do not take this class. Avoid it if possible. Most of the tests are hard. The lectures are terrible because you can't hear him. The professor seems to hate his job as well. He does not communicate well with students and he takes attendance randomly. His power points are not effective for tests or quizzes.

Horrible teacher! Textbook was a waste of money. Very monotone so I could hardly hear him. Post powerpoint on D2L but notes never related to the test. Takes attendance randomly. Overall the class isn't hard at all he's just a horrible teacher.

He is a lecture heavy teacher. He only takes grades from 3 tests all semester (4 tests given, but only 3 for final grade.) He is terrible to communicate with over e-mail, and he does not allow phones or computers in class, regardless of situation. The tests are unpredictable and quite hard if excessive notes are not taken during every class.

Don't take this professor. It's a huge class where he just lectures which is what I expected. However, he makes you attend when he puts the tests and powerpoints online. Absolutely no point to go to class and listen to him drone on and on. He also asks questions and no matter what you say it always seems to be wrong. I wish I'd taken someone else.

I took his class for single cam 1 and he is very knowledgeable. He defineitly knows what he's talking about. I found him to be a bit of a tough grader, but he can be reasonable with students. For example, extending test and project dates. He posts his tests on D2L a few days before the test to study- you just have to find the answers. Overall, good

Kalwinsky is a great guy! He tries to make lectures fun by adding in memes or cool videos. The class I was in was filled with about 300 people and so I never really got to know the teacher. His tests are kind of hard. I recommend taking notes and listening to what he says even if its not on the powerpoint.

This class was lecture heavy, I had 400 students in my class. The class size wasn't distracting bc the lectures were interesting but Prof. Kalwinsky is monotoned and he makes the material uninteresting and boring but he is very knowledgeable. Your grade will be made up of 4 tests, they are hard bc its so much material you get overwhelmed.

He's a good professor. He doesn't take attendance. There's no extra credit for his class. The only way to pass his class is bypassing all of his test. He tells you what chapters the test will be on but won't telll you exactly what will be on the test. There's no study guide. He does know what he's talking about.

Easy A if you read the book and study! Posts powerpoints on D2L, but also has open book tests online! Lectures are heavy, and attendance is taken very rarely.
