He may have credentials but was clueless on subject matter. Refused to answer questions or gave incorrect responses (if wife in class, she corrected him). He retaliates if he knows you complained. Yes, he was informed who complains; not after grades are in but immediately. He used only tests accompanying his text. Tests unrelated to class.

It will take some effort to get an A, if you study a good bit before it is definitely not impossible. My adviser scared me before entering the class basically saying no one gets an A, but I got an A in the end. I learned a good way to study for the tests are to memorize the powerpoints well, plus look over the book with the material he goes over.

Terrible! He is completely incoherent and so hard to follow. You never know what he is talking about. Going to class is pointless. The less I went to class the higher my grade was because he couldn't confuse me.

I guess Mr. Hagley had an epiphany because I believe he is a great teacher and his tests are not that hard. Just read the book and you will do fine. He is not as bad as everyone on here is saying he is. He also wears the coolest shirts ever (:

Oh Rod. I had to take this course for Cornerstone and it was absolutely terrible. Only one or two students got As (I got a B) and his grading was awful. He didn't teach ANY of the material from quizzes, and refused to curves the tests that many students failed. DO NOT HAVE ROD.

I took Microbio for nonmajors, & made an A, BARELY! I feel so sorry for those who have to take him for nursing, he is really impossible! Completely inconsiderate, cannot answer questions or teach in a coherent manner, & test questions can (and will) come from authors notes & will be about irrelevant topics!

Read and study the book!!! Also, get the PURPLE answer addition of the case study book (available online at amazon, eBay, etc) and study the microbes that are in the case studies. This is not a birdie class, you will have to teach yourself and you will get frustrated with his test and quizzes. Good luck to all you have to take this course.

Actually the worst teacher I've ever had. It could have been an interesting and informative class if it was taught by anyone else. Do not take unless you have to. And if you do have to take it, he does not care at all about the learning of his students so try to teach yourself as much of the material as possible.

This man is horrible at teaching. He stutters a lot and it's hard to understand him at times. His case study quizzes are usually on what you didn't even read. Tests can be confusing, and his group testing is complicated to understand. You'll never know what questions you missed on the test, which i didn't like. All nursing majors, good luck..

Honestly, the lectures are not pointless, but you HAVE to read the textbook to pass. If you take the quizzes in the back of the chapter, that helps out a lot. Flash cards help a TON when studying viruses/bacteria *hint* plus you have to attend the classes because he does "pop quizzes" I made an A because I studied.

If this was microbio for nonmajors, I honestly take pity on those who take it for their major. The man knows his stuff, but is completely incapable of teaching. Material on tests not relevant to the specified reading or powerpoints.

If the posts dated back to 03 are not enough, here is another. This "man" is the most inconsiderate professor I've had. Lectures are pointless. quizzes are given when he feels like making them. So you could spend hours reading for a quiz and come to class and he decided not to make a quiz! He is an arrogant ass that could care less

I have seriously never been so excited to take a final exam before in my entire life. Today was the best day of the year.... considering i will never have to communicate with this professor ever again! I felt sorry at times when students were rude to him..until i spoke with him after class one day, and he was a complete jerk to me.

This class is much self taught. Dr. Hagleys lectures are pointless you will not learn anything unless you teach yourself. He will say one thing and then turn around and do something completely different. It is heard to get any info out of him reguarding tests. On the final there were questions on things I have never even heard of before.

The worst professor I have ever had. Gives study guides but doesn't go off any of the material when giving tests. Very confusing. He doesn't know what he is doing half the time and confuses himself and the class. Not helpful at all. Don't take him!!

Believe what you read in the rest of these reviews. Dr. Hagley was horrible! He started a topic and they skewed off to something else. The clickers were pointless and 90% of the time it didn't even work, he stressed the technology and couldn't even use the application on his PC most of the time. Avoid him if you can.

Do not take this professor. His lectures are extremely boring and hard to pay attention to, and if you do pay attention he flies through the material so you still don't get it. Doesn't involve the class and not clear. He confuses himself when he talks, thus confusing the students. You end up having to teach yourself the information.

HE IS SO BORING! Im in his class at the moment and everyone that is here is either reading a magazine, on facebook, or asleep. His teaching does not help, you seriously have to read every single chapter and study more advanced material to prepare for his test. Attendance is mandatory, but he uses clickers so you could get a friend to click you in!
