Comment:

Dr. Mason was a great teacher. Yes, there are labs, and tests, and discussion boards, but its to be expected. This was the most clear, well explained class I've taken. For every lab there was an announcement and a little joke or story which i enjoyed. I had something come up once, and he was very understanding. Easily best professor I've had.

Comment:

This was an online short term. This class had a lab so there was A LOT of work but that is not a reflection of the professor. Dr. Mason was awesome. He's hilarious and always responds to emails fairly quickly. His grading isn't bad but you do need to fill all labs out fully to get a good grade. Tests are fairly easy and help balance the grade.

Comment:

The Jeopardy questions were so frustrating! None of the answers from the text book matched the answers for the quiz. It was very difficult. The text book did not have the information needed for the questions asked by the teacher. I spent hours reading the text book over and over again trying to find the answers that weren't there.

This was the easiest class Ive taken. All tests are online with three tries or more. Theres no homework and only a few discusiones. Plus no textbook to buy. He gives a lot of lectures though so if you dont like that Id recommend just taking his online class.

Comment:

Professor Roy Mason has to be one of the coolest professors I have taken at MSJC. I took a 8 week fast track BIO-115 class with him. I did not anticipate just how hard it would be to take while working and playing on an athletic team. Dr. Mason was understanding and was easy to communicate with via email and canvas. I would recommend his class!

Dr. Mason has amazing enthusiasm. His Plant Biology course is fun. I took his course Fall 2017. This class is an easy A for a non science major. Just show up every day and do your lab work and you will get an A for sure. Dr. Mason also schedules really cool field trips which he gives you 100% for attending and are waited as much as exams.

Dr. Mason was by far my favorite professor! I took him summer 17 and I am now on my 5th semester at MSJC. He is very understanding and he responds to emails latest 1 day! Easy A!

I took the fast pace 8 week class. The labs are easy but there are a few that take several days so make sure you read the labs ahead of time. Writing assignments were easy, discussion boards easy, and tests were easy. Missed 2 labs, 2 discussion boards and still got an A.

I took the fast track for this class (8 weeks) and this class was super easy. All of the assignments were super easy and as long as u do them u will get an A. The assignments can take up a lot of time especially the labs. Don't get me wrong though, this class is super easy and u'll get an A as long as u do something. Tests are easy A and online.

I took him for the 8 week online course. A LOT of work: 2-3 labs week, 2 exams, a reading assignment, and discussion board per week. Make sure you get AHEAD in your work because if you wait the last minute you will become overwhelmed. it's a lot but Dr. Mason is a great instructor who wants to make sure you excel in the class and get a good grade.

Dr. Mason is amazing! He loves his job & it clearly shows. A lot of work, but manageable. Strongly recommend forming a group of 4 to buy the lab kit & perform the experiments. Offers extra credit! You can take the exams up to 3xs; you will get the highest grade of the 3. Took a minute to grade assignments - I took his hybrid full 18 week class.

Dr. Mason is amazing and compassionate. Most important thing is being on top of assignments, especially labs. Do as much as u can and u'll pass his class. He gives 2nd opportunity to retake exams. Probably one of the best instructors in my opinion. Highly recommended.

8 week course has expected amount of work for how short it is. Labs, exams, writing assignments, and discussion boards due weekly. I would not have a problem with any of this if he was organized at all. It seems as though he just uploaded all of the due dates from a previous year because they are all off or in the wrong week. Takes forever to grade

I love Dr. Mason he is passionate about teaching sciences! I previously took him for environmental so I had to take him for Bio. It was honestly an easy A. Lots of online work (easy) but if you do it all you are guaranteed an A. Allowed to retake tests and extra credit is available which is a bonus.

This isn't an easy A class. Weekly schedule is discussion boards, 1-2 test, writing assignment, 1-2 labs & readings. I wouldn't say this class is hard just a lot of work. You get 3 chances on each test. The writing assignments are easy 300words min. Labs varied long, short or movie. Gives Extra Credit.

Be prepared for a ton of work! I took the 8 week course and it got overwhelming at times. As long as you keep up with all of the work (labs, writing assignments, discussion boards, and exams) and turn them in on time, you should be fine.

Dr. Mason is really down to earth and easy going. He has a great sense of humor and is full of funny stories about his life. Unfortunately, this semester, he said he is having an "easy" class for us and he doesn't lecture much. Every day, he comes into class, puts on a video from Ted or Youtube and he lets the video do the lecturing. Very boring.

Hands down by far and away one of my favorite teachers throughout school. He has an infectious personality that everyone in the class can appreciate. Truly an inspirational teacher that still is impacting me as I am getting ready for grad school. You would be making a huge mistake by not taking Dr. Mason!

Dr. Mason is without a doubt one of the teaching greats. His absolute passion in this world is teaching. This course has weekly group labs, no homework, 4 field trips (observatory, botanical garden, zoo and aquarium), and 3 take home tests with 3 attempts each. Super easy class, with one of the best instructors. You can't lose.
