Comment:

I have absolutely hated this class. Rus is a good guy and is funny but he is a rough professor. It has been super difficult to learn from him. Me and my friends just teach the material to ourselves after class. He also gets angry sometimes. He hates seeing phones out even if its for a second. If you can take anyone else I would recommend you do.

Comment:

May is a super nice guy, but you need to be good at math to pass this class. What he teaches is very different from homework assignments and tests. I highly recommend you form a study group and work outside of class as much as possible. He does his best to answer questions but sometimes becomes frustrated. Overall, it's not a bad class.

Comment:

Rus is one of the sweetest humans on this earth. He's a little awkward but he gives really good lectures and provides study guides/review sheets for all of the tests. He really cares about his students and makes sure we understand the material, and he's also very funny. Just show up, do the assignments, and study in order to pass.

Comment:

Russ is a super nice guy. Really cares about all his students. For a class that I always heard was the toughest in my major he made it super easy to understand. The textbook is more of a workbook so you can't get through the class without it.

Rus is amazing and funny and is one of my favorite professors. If you ever need help, go to his office. Do the homework, it's helpful for the test. He likes jokes and he's really easy going and explains the content well.

Rus May is an awesome professor. He is hilarious. If you aren't a math person, I could see his classes being tough, though. He is pretty confusing sometimes. Doesn't always explain himself very well. However, he is very approachable and willing to help. This class also didn't have very much work and you got an A just for trying.

Mays is a wonderful professor and a very kind person. He provides you with tons of examples during each lecture and is always willing to try to help you if you go to his office or stay after class. When I took him he didn't require a textbook and tried to always post notes online although he often takes a while to do so.

He's a super guy and really funny and he tries to help you as much as he can, but if you're not a math person, then it doesn't really work. I suck at math, and he just confused me more than when I started the class. He's a really cool guy tho, but doesn't really explain the stuff in a way that everyone can understand.

He is really funny, but not a good teacher. I took a general math and he turned it into a stats course. It was a good thing that i'm good at math because i had to teach myself. And when you ask for help, he explains it the same exact way as the first time. Not very good...

Dr. May is awesome. He's really funny and I thought that he communicated the content very well. I had went to class, took notes, and did well in the class. If there's something you're having trouble with he'll meet with you after class or during his office hours to help you.

He is very nice and is always willing to help you out. He is one of those people that are so intelligent, he makes conversations really awkward. Attendance isn't required, but I would recommend going to class to understand the material better. All questions on the tests are short answer which makes it somewhat difficult.

Knows his stuff, but doesn't know how to translate it to the student. I had him in class and online. You'll have to teach yourself--take the online version. He also schedules tests in the math lab, where there is no level of concentration available. You may use your book and notes, but he'll give you problems that you've never seen before.

he's a nice guy and tries to be funny and make the class interesting. he doesnt really explain how to do things and when you ask for help he sits there and stares at you struggle. on tests and quizzes he will pick out the hardest problem possible that he didnt even go over how to do. i hope you can teach your self calculus!! DONT TAKE HIM!!!

HAHA, don't know how said "He may not be much help for math but thats prolly cuz hes a CS professor", but hes all MATH, not CS even though he does teach a lot of CS . Makes everything mathy. Really nice guy though. I agree with whoever said "Spaced Out." Knows his stuff but can't teach it. Teaches better when you meet him in his office.

Had Rus for several CS and MATH classes. I enjoyed all the classes. He was very helpful and friendly. If you had a problem, you could go and talk to him. Very intelligent about both MATH and CS.
