Comment:
For a 300-level course we learned scant to nothing. She had to remind us what a paradox was. Did I say it was a 300-level course? Thoreau is the focus of the class, and like him, she's everywhere. This is bad for course expectations 'cuz when you'll get a 10pger, she is of no help. It's hard because you have to figure it out on your own w/o help.

Need to dedicate 2-3 hours before each class to prepare. Participation matters so be ready. Definitely helped improve my writing and time management skills because she forces you to start papers ahead of time. She is enthusiastic during class discussion and helpful in office hours, so go to her to brainstorm or receive feedback on papers.

if you enjoy doing a ton of homework then Prof Luria is perfect for you. Very energetic and obviously loves to teach but don't take her class if you are trying to get an easy A. Must see her in office hours

It's really important to see her for office hours when papers are due, otherwise it's hard to know what she wants. In class discussions sometimes went nowhere and often her interpretations were unclear. She's nice and not too hard of a grader if you talk to her about the papers.

Professor Luria was a more difficult grader than I expected ( especially for a 100 level class in my major). But, if you put in the work and utilize office hours, you can do well on papers. Class was always interesting and I developed a love for poetry thanks to Professor Luria.

She is very nice and helpful in office hours. She sometimes grades papers on the hard side. Even though I was placed in her freshman seminar and many people did not necessarily want to be there, she still made it entertaining and was very passionate about the subject matter. I would definitely take another course with her.

Great professor. Wicked enthusiastic and obviously loves to teach. Sometimes she seems like she doesn't know what she is doing--but I really enjoyed her class and would recommend her, whether its for an upper level or just a CRAW class. Office hours are very helpful, and she honestly wants you to do well!

Taking her for the third time so i can make the best of my senior year. She's a bit unorganized at times, but there's no doubt she's interested in the material and wants students to be as well, even if she knows we're bored. The workload isn't rocket science; just do it and you'll be fine. Very helpful whenever you feel like you're in a rut.
