This teacher is a real gem. Very helpful and an amazing lecturer. That being said I am in neuroscience and therefore am fascinated by the aspects of neurology on a chemical and biological scale. Some of my friends in the class did not find lectures to be entertaining. This prof really depends on your major or interests

Comment:

Although the subject matter made me want to stab myself in the eye with a dirty knife, Dr. Adamo is enthusiastic and well-versed in the subject, so learning about it wasn't as painful as it could have been. I enjoyed the prof, not the class. She can also be hilarious.

I am so glad this class alternates profs. Her lectures were boring but the info was understandable and she's good at explaining. The exams are way hard and have nothing to do with the lecture material or notes.

Have recommended Psychoneuroimmunology to all of my friends in PsychNeuro. Dr. Adamo is great at conveying information and making classes interesting. You need to go to class and keep up with what she's saying to do well as lecture notes aren't posted online, some might find this daunting, but I found it really helped me engage the material.

She's really enthusiastic with the material and keeps you awake. I think the tests were very fair - just attend class and read the book. Some questions were a bit ambiguous but generally common sense should get you through it. Great class overall!

Her exams are brutal.... you have to really understand the concepts behind animal behaviour to be able to get a good grade. But she is an AWESOME prof and is very helpful during office hours and through email. She's amazing at explaining stuff so if you're doing badly in the class, you're probably skipping too many classes.

Really great teacher - got me super interested in animal behaviour, which I knew nothing about before. Made everything really easy to understand, and always picked interesting examples to talk about in class. Overall one of my favourite profs!

Dr. Adamo is a well organized teacher who works hard at trying to help second year Neuro/Psych students to understand the brain. Her tests are hard, but everything she teaches relates to the midterms/exams, and the book ALWAYS relates. She was always happy to help other people if they needed clarification. Just work hard and pay attention.

Loved her lectures and the content, great pace - good speaker. My only complaint is that I found her exam questions unusual, and wasn't always sure what she was asking. It's weird to be able to draw, label and explain the stomatogastric ganglion of a lobster as learned in class, and not have that help you answer questions about it.

I am a straight A student and I got a C plus in her class. The exams are impossible to prepare for unless you have a lot of background in bio/evolution. Really not comparable to other psych courses. However she is EXTREMELY nice and is very helpful during office hours and replied to my lengthy questions through email.

her animal behaviour class is EXCELLENT!! and whoever said you need to study your butt off...obviously didn't attend the lectures, because the material is not hard to retain. If you are looking for basically an interesting, worthwhile bird course, this is the one. She is very enthusiastic during lectures, obviously loves what she does. A++
