Steve is a great guy and very funny. He is super scatter brained during lecture so it can get confusing. He doesn't use PPT for notes so if you miss class you have to find someone to get you notes. He takes attendance everyday but you don't get penalized for not coming to class. He makes everyone participate in class. Never cancels class.

Professor Saupe is awesome! He makes class really fun! If you take notes from lectures in class and review them before tests, you should be completely prepared for the tests. There isn't much homework besides the tests, and the material isn't too difficult to understand. He makes biology really fun and I would recommend him for anyone.

Saupe is a sweetheart and is very willing to work with you if you don't understand the material. His lectures can take tangents that will never show up on a test, so if you are studying for his test I would largely pay attention to the practice quizzes and study guides he posts on canvas.

Saupe is super cool but his class can be really hard to follow. He's all over the place and if some people seem to get it he goes even faster. I never knew what to write down during lectures. He gives out study guides and posts notes online though, these were definitely my saving grace. If you study what he posts on canvas you should do fine.

Simply put, Saupe's a beaut. He is a great professor and knows what he is talking out. He will write definitions and diagrams on the board and got everyone involved by going around the room asking questions on the material to make sure we were grasping the concepts. If you do struggle, talk to him! He is always there.

Steve is an interesting guy. He is a bit scatter-brained, but he is an awesome professor. I don't think anyone ever got below a BC on the exams. He keeps class and lab relaxed and is always willing to help. I don't really find plants that interesting, but I still really enjoyed the class. Highly recommended!

Dr. Saupe is very interesting and a great professor. He has a dry sense of humor. His tests are challenging, but he is fair and very helpful. He uses a lot of visuals and stories. I used my textbook once for the final.

I had Steve for lab and I loved him! He is so laid back; he put on pandora every day in lab. I was never intimidated by him so asking questions is a breeze. I learned a lot by just talking to him. He is also just a cool guy in general. If you can, take him. He is my advisor now and he rocks. Chillest prof ever. And he loves plants. A lot.

Saupe is a very nice person, but a very on task teacher. He uses notes that are very helpful, but goes through all the information at a fast pace. His tests are hard, and he grades by the book. Use his moodle website as much as possible. Hard, but helpful.

Saupe is the man. His online notes and practice exams are a great way to prepare for the tests. Speaking of which, each test is only on material that has been covered in class, so unlike many other professors, the book is used as a guide rather than a tedious way of weeding through information. I am taking Saupe again next semester by choice!

Boring as EVER. Just a nerd that tried to be cool. AKA: Rambling on with aimlessly bad jokes and comments. Had to write a final paper on the ethical issues of circumcision and sheep mulesing....not what I would call beneficial post-college.
