Honestly, Doctor Hirschberg is one of the best professors I've ever had . Great analysis, great selection of readings, a very forgiving man, tests are very open ended, essays are fun to write (for me personally) . Please don't cheat in his class, please do the right thing and read the readings or at least listen to him read them literally for you .

Take this professor for your literature course. He is a good professor. If you listen to him during class, you don't need to read the books. All of the books are online. He is very friendly if you talk to him. Certainly would take him again

He gives you a list of books to read (All are found online 4 free). I took him for the summer-so easy. His lectures are BORING tho. Attendance not mandatory at all. He usually gives 3 quizzes, basically write as much as u can, have ur ideas separated by paragraphs, & fill up the book. Even if u miss a quiz, he lets u take it home. Easy A take him

I would recommend him to anyone who needs a core literature credit. His lecture is very helpful. He is very friendly and wants to help. I think if you try your best, there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A from him. A nice guy and a great professor!

a good experience this summer with this friendly professor. I love how he goes through the books with you in class. This allowed me to not read anything literally. a day before the quizzes he gives away the exact questions and answers to them. fill up the booklet with examples of your own and stuff that he said in class and you get an A.

Took him over the summer. He covers a lot in a short period of time and seemed intense but turned out to be a lenient grader and nice. He has this do whatever the heck you want as along as you do the work kind of attitude. Very cool. Good professor

Great class. Dr hirschberg is so chill and flexible. He's very smart and knows a lot. Exams are really easy because they are open book and he tells you the exam questions during the review. If you can fill up the blue book, it's a guaranteed B/A. You can't go wrong with this professor. The best !

Amazing amazing quality. He is very friendly and caring. Far from being strict and serious. Even allows you to choose your own prompt for the term paper. He doesn't even take attendance. Very relaxing course. He is incredibly smart and passionate. Highly recommend him if you need a literature credit.

Whoever gave this guy a bad rating probably didn't do so well because a literature professor cannot get any chiller than this man. He doesn't bother you with class participation BS which means you don't even have to show up to class if you don't want to. Quizzes, exams and paper. Not a harsh grader at all. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Fair and nice.

If you need a literature class take this guy. Easy solid B+ to A. 3 tests. 1 paper (5-10pgs) attendance not taken. show up every 2 weeks to get an idea for when the next test is. can use spark notes in class as well as the text and any notes you have. it helps to take notes in class but can be hard to listen to him drone on. 10/10 would recommend

He's the easiest professors I've had. He doesn't read the quizzes; it's obvious because he'll leave only one comment, but with that being said, fill up your blue book, and you'll get an A! If you can't fill it up, just show up to class. I got B's on each quiz, B on the term paper, filled up the book for the final, and got an A in the class.

easy class, kind of boring because he just talks the whole period straight. Assigned five books I think but you don't even need to read them if you pay attention to his lecture. Write as much as you can in the bluebooks and get started on the paper early and this class should go well for you.

This professor spends class time reading and discussing the required books with the class and doesn't expect the class to speak back. If you're not up for listening, sure, he won't really be bothered. But if you do actually listen from time to time, he is a magnificent critical reader and story teller. For quizzes, the more you write, the better.
