Worst professor I've ever had. Super rude, makes countless mistakes during lecture that you will be penalized for on exams. Clicker questions/exams are full of trick questions and she LAUGHS when the whole class gets them wrong. Lectures are useless and only worth going to for clicker points. READ THE TEXTBOOK. DO NOT TAKE IF U DONT NEED TO.

The people complaining about Quick dont know how to program. With online sources like GitHub/StackOverflow, its easy to find answers to questions online as opposed to asking her. Once you get past her rudeness toward asking questions, youll realize she teaches you all that you need to know and wants everyone to pass--we genuinely had 80 bonus pts

Quick really doesn't deserve all the hate. She's clearly a programmer first and teacher second, but she tries her best to keep lectures engaging. She is very accessible for questions but gets annoyed with "dumb" questions i.e. stuff that is found in the syllabus. The course is laid out nicely and Quick is a good prof, you get the grade you earn.

This is an interesting and not too difficult class taught by a poor professor. If you find a friend or two and read the books for labs, you should be good in that department. Best way to succeed: Attend lecture and take notes, avoid talking to Susan at all costs, read the books, and have at least one friend in the class.

Susan Quick is the opposite of caring. In fact, I think she hates students and teaching. Worst professor and person I have ever encountered. Projects were also VERRRY hard but TA's are great help. That said, Susan is notorious for re-using old exams so if you can study those you should do fine. Second midterm hardest for students

Don't ever take this course from her unless you have masochistic tendencies. She treats her students so poorly, that I actually felt sad for myself. Any level of question you ask during the lab sessions (easy/extremely hard) she'll treat you like a 7 year old; trying to make fun of you for not knowing. Her exams are half decent if you study.

If you can avoid taking her, do so. She's often rude to students who asks questions despite telling students that she wants them to ask questions. She gave bonus to go to her office hours which was basically just her being condescending to me. She teaches the class like a grade school teacher. To study, just look at what she can turn into a trick Q

I feel like I got lucky that this wasn't my only college level coding class, because honestly I didn't learn but so much in this class. She's excessively rude when students ask her questions she doesn't like. Her tests are almost impossible.

I was very worried after reading the other reviews that this would be a very difficult class, but it is honestly up to you how you use the resources provided. Professor Quick as a resource is lacking, but paying close attention to every lecture will make the homework easy. For coding sections of exams you are able to use your past code to help you.

People here are simply bad programmers giving out 1 stars. The class is not hard, if your programs work properly and look nice you will get a 100. The lectures are helpful for good exam grades and contain test questions. Attendance is good as clicker questions may be on the exam. TAs willmake mistakes grading, go to office hours to get points back.

She's the absolute worst professor I've had and that speaks volumes. During lecture, she's monotone, makes spelling mistakes in slides (which is the only way she teaches), YELLS at you when you ask a question she doesn't like, and is worse during office hours. Tests are too hard, the book is too long, DON'T take this class if you don't have to.

One of the worst professors I have ever had. The first few weeks are not bad, but immediately after the first midterm the class goes straight downhill. Susan Quick is knowledgeable about c++, but can't teach it to save her life. Her lectures are worthless and she always gets mad when you cant type code correctly. Way too hard for an intro class.

I have many problems with this class, thus I will try my best to spell out the problems I have in an objective manner. The examples during the lectures are so unprofessional and not well optimized. Full screen the powerpoint, don't highlight things with the mouse because the edit box pops up and blocks previous bullet points. Full screen the exa

You know how entry level jobs want you to have three years of experience before you even start, well Quick expects the same when it comes to C++. The only way you can actually pass is by getting perfects on the assignments so that you can have some leeway when it comes to exams because they are ridiculously hard. Also Susan is rude.

The grading in this class is r3t4rd3d, the TA's have never interacted with another human being before, and she is the most unhelpful and rude professor I have had. I submitted an assignment via .cpp in the comments instead of upload because it wasn't working and I get a zero. cout<<"my zero for lab 6"<> susanQuicks4ss

Ever gotten hit by a train? Me neither but this class is a simulation for that. Super unclear, the same depressing lecture slide format that is riddled with errors, professor teaches nothing but expects mastery of material. The book is your lord and savior C++ Christ because if you need help from office hours, expect a rude, unhelpful answer.

Literally just the worst person to teach this class. Easily the worst professor I've had in college, maybe in life so far. Prime example of a professor that understands a field to the point where they don't know how to explain it to students and often seems visibly irritated or annoyed when students ask questions or dare to say they need more expla
