Comment:

Mrs. Young is a great professor. She learns your name and is open to occasional joking before class. She prepares you amazingly for exams and gives opportunity for extra credit. People say Calc II is the hardest Calc, but Young makes it a breeze and makes it enjoyable. Strongly recommend.

Comment:

I had her last year. She was the perfect professor. Dr. Young went through numerous helpful examples. Her tests didn't try to trick you - all she wanted was to see that you understood the material (as it should be). The Math Department will never be able to replace her with anyone half as good.

Comment:

Simply incredible teacher, such a shame she's being forced to retire. Such a great lecturer with so many examples I NEVER did a single HW problem. Just do the previous exams the night before and go to the review sessions and you're golden. Ended up with 102 in the classan A is a 89.9. EVERYONE should be able to get an A. You will be missed!!

What can you say about her except she's amazing. Her lectures were so engaging full of examples after examples. I loved this class because of her. Methods of Integration & Series is the tough areas but if you simply go to class, study her examples & do her old exams on SB you will do great, I didn't do 1 HW problem all semester.

I didnt get the best grade in her class, but Calc II is just plain difficult. Mrs. Young made the class not nearly as hard and went example crazy during her lectures so the homework and quizzes were much easier to prepare for!

Susan Young is incredible! This is a tough course but her lectures are purely example after example which reflect the quizexams very much so, as long as you go to class, you will do great. Calc II is made tough by methods of Integration & Series but it is very doable, Calc I was more difficult in my opinion. She is the best math professor by FAR

I did all the homework and studied a night or two before exams and quizzes. She makes calculus easy. Don't be afraid to ask questions and do all the work and it'll be a breeze. Took her for calc 1 and 2: had a 100% going into the final for 1. Currently have a 103% in 2. SHE IS PERFECT!!

What else is there to say but the fact that she is the greatest math teacher ever. Beyond fair, loves her students, easy to understand, and always wants everyone to understand the material. People all over Akron's campus knows who she is and loves her. If you have her for a class, congratulations! You'll have a great semester!!

Definitely take Mrs. Young if you can. She is an awesome teacher. Very helpful, and is willing to go out of her way to help you. The quizzes are a lot like the notes and home works and she is lenient in giving points for trying. One of the best teachers at Akron.

Took Prof. Young for Business Calc in a 5 week summer session. Definitely the best math teacher I've ever had. She is very thorough and pretty much leaves you with exactly what's on the test with the HW she assigns. Absolutely take her for any type of math class.

Quite possibly one of the best math teachers that you can get on campus. Ms. Young makes calc2 an easy course with all the extra help and extra credit that she gives. She gives plenty of examples so that you have plenty to study from. There is no reason that you can't walk out of her class with an A if you put any amount of effort forward.

She is absolutely amazing! Calculus 2 is a hard course but she makes it much easier! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TAKING HER FOR ANY MATH :) She is very helpful, patient and gives the opportunity for bonus points! Best math teacher I have ever had!

Wonderful teacher! I am taking calc 3 with another professor now and I already want her back. The way she taught things and ran her class was incredible and she was extremely helpful. Very organized too.
