Like fr do not take her class you wont understand a word she says and she adds random questions on the test that have nothing to do what youre learning about shes expects you to have a PhD in math to pass her class

Comment:

This teacher is awful, she only shows examples from the book and lectures the materials too fast. Her lectures are boring and she has a thick accent and likes to say m kay and fine. If your not that great I highly suggest you should not take her. Also, her test was hard and very complicated to understand.

Comment:

There's a lot of comments about the ability to understand her. She has an accent but was fairly easy to understand and her quirks were pretty funny! If you're willing to engage and ask questions, she is super helpful and will explain until you get it. If you sit back and do nothing, why are you even in college?

Comment:

I took her for Math 37 but ended up dropping out because I was not able to learn in her class. She lectures as if her students should know what she is teaching already. Goes through sections very quickly which makes it even more difficult to understand when you are not already very good at math. She knows her material, but not how to teach it.

Comment:

Was very nice and definitely wanted her students to succeed. She gave a lot of homework but it was always due the day of the exam so you could push it off. Her exams looking back were easy and the format was straightforward. When it came to lecturing, if you don't go to class and don't bother reading to the chapter in the book then you won't pass!

Comment:

She has an accent and a vocal tic that make it sometimes difficult to understand what she's saying. She's open to answering questions but will spend 30 minutes answering a 5 minute question. Doesn't really go over what kind of questions will be on test and is really picky about showing all your work. She teaches pretty much directly from the book.

She is a good teacher that really tries to make sure everyone understands the work by giving many examples and formulas (which may seem excessive to some). She lectures/teaches straight from the book and you need the book for the HW. She really does care about the students, but she says "m'kay / k" a lot which can be annoying or distracting.

Comment:

Really not the right fit for someone who struggles with math. I have/had a 4.0 for the past two years at Chabot. This has been the hardest class for me by far, and it really was not easy to do well. The class is not designed well, and each class she lectures as if she is talking to wall, with minimal interaction with her students. Good luck.

Comment:

Miss Rouland sure knows her math and you can tell she's really passionate about it but if you yourself are not passionate about math or if you're just not so good at math in general, I don't recommend her. Her lectures are fast paced and she has a thick accent so make sure to take really good notes and really dedicate time to study for the tests.

Her lectures are extremely difficult to listen to, her thick Asian accent combined with repetitive phrases make it difficult to discern what she's saying sometimes. Her lectures are jumbled and confusing. Is a nice, open woman that won't bite though. Makes it clear when you can talk to her, no email contact. Will take up class time for Questions!

Sweet lady but not so good in her lectures. I don't recommend taking her if math is already hard for you. Rushes through sections, best tip is to go through the book of the material before each lecture.

Comment:

Mrs. Rouland tries her best in teaching her students and explaining if asked. That being said, she does tend to go quickly in her lecture and sometimes has a tendency to over-complicate the material because her explanations become too elaborate. There's a lot of homework, so don't fall behind... (cough). Sometimes she can be a generous grader.

Difficult to understand with her accent, but she does her best to help. She answered questions I had and re-explained things when asked by others. You NEED to do the homework and projects otherwise you will fail the tests. If you show up to class daily, do the work and study, you'll live.

Let me go straight to the point, you need to buy the textbook, attend her class and you need to do the homework and technology projects assigned, they really helped me. She is a great instructor and always make sure everyone understand her before moving on. She will always give lots of real life example so you can relate to it. Definitely the best.

Rouland constantly rushes through the material. She has a thick accent and can be hard to understand but the issue wasn't her accent but the way she doesn't fully explain the material. She lightly goes over the topic once and expects you to fully comprehend the lesson. She does not answer questions well so there isn't much help from her. Good Luck

She rushes through the material and expects you to understand immediately. Doesn't answer questions and assumes that everyone understands what shes saying. Has a thick accent and lectures quickly. She claims to give 6 tests and pop quizzes but only gave 3 tests so if you do poorly your out of luck.

Run away. I repeat run away. Her accent is hard to understand plus she's too fast and expects you to grasp a lesson when she teaches it once. If you like writing your homework in sheets of paper instead of doing it the modern way (online through mathxl or mymathlab), go ahead and take her. Rest assured, you'll fail!!

I enjoyed her class a lot, I didn't have any problem with the material and she was really nice and funny. The only problem was that it was 8 am class so I was sleeping the first 2 weeks. I learn by reading so her lectures weren't that important to me. HW is due before the test and at the end she's easy so take her!
