Comment:
Dr. Wendy Pogozelski is singly the most caring professor I have encountered at SUNY Geneseo. While I gave her a (4/5) for difficulty, that is mostly because of the intense workload I required to memorize and understand her material. High focus on slides. Office hours are rushed, but very helpful. Ask questions because she likes engaged students.

Has a lot of examples that are really in depth but doesn't make it clear what we have to know and don't have to know. Tests are made up with questions that are very detailed and irrelevant to the core material. Not that helpful during office hours. Unfortunately she is the only biochemistry professor right now so there are no other options.

She is so helpful and makes the class very interesting. Everything is given a practical application so you can understand why it is important to learn it. She gives a lot of help on homework and is a very fair grader. Overall, this is one of the best classes I've ever taken at Geneseo and I cab't wait to take Biochem II with her next semester

Pogo is definitely one of the better teacher's I have had as a biochem major. She's very smart and her lectures are interesting filled with lots of applications. Sometimes she can be a bit neurotic but shes really passionate and it shows. I would recommend her to anyone interested in biochem! Tests and hw arent bad you just have to study a lot!!

Dr. Pogo's class was very interesting. She takes everything we learn in biochem and gives us some sort of application or story behind it that makes it even more interesting. Tests were fair and homework helped apply what you learned in class. You don't need to read the text because her notes are pretty good. Id definitely recommend taking her class

She is very helpful at office hours and is a very nice person. However, her notes are often very unclear and contradicting and she doesn't always do the best job explaining things. Her exams are mostly fair. Great 300 level class but Dr. Pogozelski needs to be a lot more concise and clear.

I think she is a great professor for this class. She tries to limit the amount of memorization and instead teach the application of the science and how concepts link together. She's not the most social of professors and has to make an effort, but she is excellent one on one and her office hour time is gold.

Pogo is one of the best Chem professors I've ever had. She may seem a bit intimidating at first but GO TO HER REVIEW SESSIONS!! Shes very helpful and friendly. She teaches a lot of material based on how it is actually used and makes a lot of stuff interesting that way. If you show her you care about the class, she will notice. TAKE HER! :)

Dr. Pogo is a great professor. She knows her subject very well and shows interest in it. Tells some great stories about her experiences. She's kind of intimidating, especially in office hours, but I'm not sure why, she's really nice. Pay attention, go to review, do homework.

If you make calc errors easily, this is not the class for you. She's a nice person and it's obvious she cares, but she offers none to little partial credit which is a killer on tests. If you don't love chemistry, I would take it w/ a different professor. Incredibly hard class. Incredibly strict professor.

Dr. Pogo's classes always come with a discalimer. It seems as though she cares a little to much about what freshman in her class write about her on this website. She is an extremely intelligent woman who knows her subject well. Apart from being too self-conscience, Dr. Pogo is a good teacher and her class is doable if you are willing to do the work

she can be nice and she can get angry and be mean. she gives no partial credit and it's really easy to fail her tests - they are hard and she is kind of an unfair grader. she likes office hours and she's good at teaching one-on-one. she messes up notes a lot though, and sometimes confuses herself and that can be frustrating. she's really smart.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR. She does not give out ANY partial credit and doesn't seem to think you're working your butt off as it is. She seems to think everyone is a chem major. Save yourself and take this class with anyone but her.

Chem II was an excellent class to take. Excellent comminicator and always more than willing to go the extra mile. Her tests, though difficult at times, are directly based off of the lectures. She Shows enthusiasm and brings a lot of examples and demonstrations. Being polite and respectful are as critical as attending class. A definite choice.

One of the best teachers in Geneseo. I took both chem 2 and biochem 1 with her and so far I got nothing but praises for her. One thing: BE VERY RESPECTFUL, no joke... 100% of the exam comes from her notes/lecture.
